Default Hook'em

Twas the Night of the Rose Bowl.............. Hook'em!
T'was the night of the Rose Bowl*and all through the land,

All the Longhorns were stirring, even the band.

The tickets were purchased for the game, room, and air*

In hopes that "Saint Vincent" would soon be there!!

The fans were tailgating from their truck beds,

While a vision of a championship danced in their heads.

And Bevo in his bridle, and me in my cap*

Had just popped a cold one before the first snap.

When out on the turf there arose such a clatter,

I sprang to my feet to see what was the matter!!

My eyes fixed on the tunnel, and the thundering herd;

The roar of the fight song; I sang every word!!

They ran to the end zone, and knelt to their maker*

Giving thanks for TEXAS, and the victory later!!

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear.

Coach Mack in his glory, "THE HEAD COACH OF THE YEAR"!

And our hero from Houston that I haven't seen since;

I knew in a moment it must be "Saint Vince"!

More rapid than eagles his posse they came*

And he whistled and shouted and called them by name!

Now, THOMAS! Now, TAYLOR! Now, PITTMAN and SWEED!

On, CHARLES! On, GRIFFIN! ROSS, HUFF and McGEE!

To the top of the world for a championship crown!

Now dash away, dash away, to a TEXAS touchdown!

They fought with fury! They fought with might!

They fought like champions on this championship night!

Oh! The bombs they flew, and the holes blew open*

The Longhorns ran the ball just as we were hop'in.

The defense attacked, and oh, they played hard!

Stopping the Trojans, in their own back yard!

Mack's eyes how they twinkled, his dimples, how merry!

His cheeks were like roses, the "crystal ball" he did carry!

He embraced his coaches, he embraced his team!

And "The Eyes of TEXAS" we all did sing

A season that will live forever in lore;

COME EARLY, WEAR ORANGE, STAY LATE, once more!

MERRY CHRISTMAS, TEXAS!! HOOK 'EM HORNS

Come on. What's wrong with being a Longhorn fan and wanting the Texans to draft Reggie Bush? I want the Longhorns to win but Reggie to stay healthy.

Texas is gonna get owned. We all know USC is a much better team and Vince Young will turn out to be garbage in the NFL.

Thats a very ignorant statement. We will see who is a better team. We will also see how Vince Young fairs in the NFL. He is not garbage.

WOW...I'm definately not a Longhorn fan, but I wouldn't go so far as to make a statement like that.

I guess it was a little harsh calling him garbage, but i dont think he'll turn out to very good. He just seems to me like one of those QB's that dominates in college but wont amount to much in the NFL. I'll have to wait and watch him play in the Rose Bowl, the only other game i saw of his was against A&M and he was on the side line pouting like a little kid.

And Texas will get OWNED in the Rose Bowl. They gave up 194 rushing yards to Oklahoma states RB, just imagine what Reggie and Lendale are gonna do.

Very creative. Nice job! I just hope some day soon I'll get to hear a crowd chanting Sic 'Em at a bowl game.

If the only game you saw of Reggie Bush was against Washington (8 carries, 51 yards), would you think he is going to be garbage as well? Or do you think it's just a dumb idea to judge a player off one game?

USC gave up 42 points to Fresno State. How many do you think Texas (#1 scoring offense in the country) will score?

I saw the colorado game and his highlights on ESPN all year, hes just not that good. Im sure texas will score but USC will score a lot easier and a lot more.

Those that know have forgotten more about football (Big12 coaches that named Vince 1st team All-Big12, former Heisman winners that voted him 1st or 2nd, etc.) than most of us will ever know would disagree with your notion that he's "not that good".

Yeah, of course i know who Hawk is. Im sure Young will kick @$$ if he stays in college for next season, probably win a national championship (since he isnt getting one this year). Im just saying i dont think hes gonna be a very good NFL qb, if it makes you feel better, i feel the same way about leinart. Leinart doesnt have much of an arm and hes already wearing a knee brace.

Maybe you know: Why does Leinart wear a knee brace?

I have read people say over and over again "knee problems" but I've never heard/read any article talking about him having a knee injury. I know about the minor elbow surgery but if he had any surgery on his knee that was relevant, it would seem that it'd get a lot of coverage.

Does he wear it out of precautionary reasons as a lot of OL do or did he actually injure it and I missed the story?
