Hey guys. Detroit Lions fan here. We are going through the same headaches and pains as you guys. It is looking like you guys are drafting No. 1 next year. Do you think you guys are going to go after a Leinart or Bush? Or are you guys going to trade the pick to get additional picks to beef up the Oline and fill in other holes? We are in the same boat as you guys.

There is no chance we are taking Leinart. This board is basically divided between the pro-Bush's and the trade downers. We'll see what happens if we stay at #1.

I would actually think Reggie Bush is that once in a decade type player that could make an immediate impact but you guys need an Oline. David Carr is very accurate when given time and D Davis still a good running back. With a good blocking scheme, you guys could be division contenders. You guys look good on paper just as well as us. We both just need a new coach/coaching staff imo.

Detroit should have around the 8th overall pick (seems vaugely familar) here are a couple sceneros. Texans have the #1 pick. 49ers want Bush they exchange picks for 49er's next years #1. so the Texans are sitting #2 with Leinart on the board what would the Lions offer the Texans to move up so they could draft leinart? besides the #1 pick (8th overall) worth 1400 points, the Lions would have to cough up roughly another 1200 points to be a fair exchange (according to the Draft Pick Value Guide). so that would mean a pair of 2nd rd picks (one this year & one next year) plus a 3rd this year to move up to the #2 position to draft Leinart.

I don't think we would move up to get Leinart. Our fans are basically tired of drafting QBs and will probably pick up a QB like Kitna in the off season and restructure Joey Harrington's deal. It really depends on who our next coach is going to be and what system that will be run. The Fords and Millen like Harrington but the fans are tired of losing under Millen. I'm guessing we might go after A.J. Hawk, Mathis Kiwanuka, or Brickhouse in the 1st. Pickup some FA Offensive line in the off season.

Thats something along the lines on what i have been thinking. If we do.. do that i would expect us to trade some of the 2nd or 3rd rounders either for a pick next year, another player, or even to trade up. There is no way we could add that many players from the draft. Atleast now we are thinking.

Thinking? Lets put some players to some of these picks we are talking about and then we can think some more. We have the #1 overall at the moment this year and we a talking about trading it for picks(which when they occur we don't know what will be available?) I think more picks at the right time are great if they get us good talent at that spot, but having alot of pick or multi. 1st rnd picks don't show what you will get for them.( We had two 1st rnd picks last year? lots of talent?). Would you trade Reggie Bush for our first two 1st rnd picks last year? I would like to know what people are thinking we could get for all these numbers.

Well you really cant put players in places yet its a waste of your time. There are bowls, injuries that will happen, combines.... I am just saying i think we could very easily make 2 1st round trades. Get 2nds and 3rds from other teams. Then package some of them and move back up.

All we can do now is guess.... OK lets think not who Casserly and Capers wants lets think who does Reeves wants. Who is a Reeves style of player.

I think we will trade some of these for picks next year we can be adding too many ppl. Obcourse these names i just did based off a webpage listing so obcourse i am willing to change ppl around..

as far as trading Bush for next year maybe depends on what is offered.
