This is for us that are still undecided on whether we should
A) Take Bush B) Take Leinhart C) Take Young D) Take D'Brick E) Trade Down I have mixed feelings on all of these honestly except say the Leinhart pick. I have no desire to draft him even though I think he's a good qb. All the rest I change my mind minute to minute. The thing I haven't liked is folks assuming more picks is always the best thing. 3 additional picks mean nothing if you don't draft 3 good players and right now our drafting history isn't on our side. State your opinion on the matter....

I don't think we should consider taking Brick at #1. We should trade back to 4-6 if we want him, even if it means getting just a second. With Winston out there, it's not as if we have to live in fear of another team jumping ahead of us for Brick.

I would be happy with Bush or D'Brick because they are both talented players. I personally would want to trade down, pick up 2 extra first day picks this year and a first rounder next. I could see trading down and picking up all the picks. This would likely yeild 5-7 starters and at worst tons of depth, whereas we could end up with 2-4 starters from staying were we are. Also taking the top draft pick means we lose some money to play with in FA. I would say trading down would be best for the franchise.

I think A and E are the only two options and personally I don't think you can pass on a talent like Bush. It could be a decision that will haunt the franchise for years to come.

Im a niner fan, thus the name, im just here to see what you guys are saying about the draft seeing as how its the only thing we have to look forward to. Im not saying this just cause i want him (maybe) but why would you guys pick Bush? You have the most sacked Qb in the league by a long shot and you already have a good running back, i'd trade you Barlow for Davis. I think you guys should take D'brick and the extra picks that come with moving down, and leave Bush for the niners. Hey, come week 17 you guys probably wont have to worry about the first pick anymore, GO TEXANS!!!!!!!

I wouldn't trade anyone for Barlow. He is over priced and bad.

Nice NinerPheen get on the MBs and make sure that you guys lose to us. Hell you might want to tell your boys in gay-rich town to throw the game. You all lose you take Bush, but if we have the first pick you switch picks with us and give up a 3rd and Julian Peterson we will give you Bush and our 5th. Sounds like a deal.

Deal, JP's a free agent anyway. People are all over the niners board arguing about wether or not we should lose just like they're doing here. Theres no point in us going 5-11 or 4-12 or 3-13, all that will do is keep us from gettin the best player in a long, long time. You can argue all the go team crap you want, but every Houston and SanFrancisco fan, secretly hopes their team keeps losing. Tell me you wouldnt rather trade you first pick to someone else, still get the guy you want, and pick up some extra draft picks. Sounds a lot better than winning a meaningless game at the end of the year.

I agree Sarge, but i was hoping it was a trade with us. Hopefully we'll already have the first pick so we dont have to waste 2 or 3 other quality picks to move up a spot or two.

I don't think a 1st, a 3rd, and Julian Peterson is a good deal at all. That would mean that we would have to sign Julian Peterson to a huge contract because thats what he wants or we get nothing because he is a free agent. And I really don't want to have to franchise him like the Niners did.

We can swap picks with the 49ers and add their 2nd rounders for this year and next year, then drop down another couple picks with someone like the Jets, Ravens, Lions, or Cardinals that will all be in the top 8 and looking for Leinart, then add their 2nd and 3rd round picks for this year, leaving us with a high first rounder, 3 high second rounders, and 3 high third rounders. Sounds like a good deal to me.

Does anyone here really think the Niners will beat the Texans?
The first pick is the niners. |

We can win week 17 and still have the #1 pick, even if SF loses out. It all depends on how the strength of schedule plays out over the next three weeks. |

I actually think it is going to go in our favor. Because now that the Colts have clinched and Dungy has said that winning the Super Bowl is more important than going 16-0 we could see either San Diego or Seattle or both beating them which would lower our strength of schedule and if Seattle beats the Colts it will lower ours and raise the Niners. But I believe that the Niners are going to beat the Rams. The Rams are pathetic and Fitzpatrick is pathetic. 5 picks yesterday? We made him look like John Elway. |
