we dont need to look CB until at least round 5, all we need is someone to replace faegins and maybe sanders.

I would love to see us somehow get Jimmy Williams. In one of my earlier posts I brought up the possibility of trading down a little and picking up Williams. Then with one of the extra picks we get for trading down we take the best LT available. This draft has some good ones. We would need to get an extra 1st rounder or early 2nd rounder to pull it off.

DeMario Minter is physical.. and has real good speed.. he's one of those rare physical corners that can actually cover..

We probably wont be able to get Williams.. but if Minter drops to us then i'm all for picking him..

We can likely pick up Minter or Kelly Jennings in the third. Might look at Michael Huff out of Texas if he puts up some fast combine numbers.

We could trade back and get him. Pick up best LT in the 2nd then. I don't think sanders has played that bad honestly the few times i've seen him play so i could be dead wrong here.

the only reason why i say the Texans shouldnt pick up a CB in the first and if they trade down they should pick up Kiwi or Mario Williams is because you can have a great corner but if the pass rush isnt there it makes it that much rougher on the DBs having to run with WRs longer so if we get a Pass Rush specialist then imagine what Robinson and (Hopeful 3rd round pick) DeMario Minter could do with good pass rush helping them out..

Yeah endless possibilities can be a good thing but it could also be a bad thing I just hope that the new staff can handle this situation intelligently and make the proper decisions that would benefit the team..

I have zero problem if the best available player is at CB or S, in a trade down scenario, that we take them. In a division that has Manning, Leftwich and McNair strenght in numbers in the secondary is huge.

I've been wondering if P-burnt will be kept due to how much we put up for the dude, or if he will be released. I don't know what the contract status is, but it seems to me that the new coaching staff is going to have to look at the draft that at most, they can pick up 3 players to fill positions. Where will the coach (or GM) say "Okay, let's get this one" and where will they decide to have to leave the person there and try to work something out in 07? The new coaching staff should have a lot of say into who stays and who goes, so it will be interesting to see how that influences our draft picks.

Buchanon is still on his rookie contract so next year would be his last season. I would think that we would keep Buchanon around next year and see how he works out with a new DC and new system and see if his lack of skill at sticking right on a WR is not exploited as easily if we can gnerate more pressure on the opposing QBs, and if he doesn't work out next season then we just don't resign him and let him go. I think many players like him will probably stick around one more year for the new coaches to see how they work in their system rather than cutting them for lack of performance in our current system. If we cut 20 people like that who don't seem like they deserve to stay, then we will have to try and find 20 new people to replace all those roster spots and we won't likely be able to get many better people without spending a ton of money, so I'm guessing the new coaching staff/GM will keep several people like Buchanon around for one year to see how well they can play under them, although a few people like McKinney that have big salary numbers for next year could be cut. It probably also depends on if Casserly is still our GM, as he might want to keep some of his people around to see if they can play in a new system, then it would prove to be more of a coaching problem this year than a problem with player personnel.
