If we were looking to trade down
just looking at the scenario with the standings right now (just going by record) 1)Texans (DD and Wells) 2wins 2)San Francisco (have kevin barlow and frank gore) 3)Green bay(green) 4)N.O. (mcallister) 5)N.Y.Jets (martin) is getting long in tooth) 3 wins 6)Titans (Brown) 7)Arizona (shipp and arrington) San Fran and Arizona and maybe Jets.. but not sure they would give us alot in return

If the Texans beat the 49ers in week 17, all of this Bush Talk is worthless.

I think Green Bay _could_ eat up Reggie Bush easy... with Ahmad Green and Najeh Davenport losing value, Bush could be a good fit if the Packers walk away from power running.

I think its gonna be between Green Bay, San Fran, and the Jets that will want to trade up for Bush. Arizona is going to be the team trying to trade up for Leinart. I think the only other game we will have a chance to win is the San Fran game and hopefully we will lose.
If somehow we lose the race for the #1 pick, and get the #2 pick we will still be in a great position to trade down with Arizona for Leinart. Thats if Bush is the #1 pick, which he most likely will be. Either way, we are in good position to trade down, get some very needed xtra picks and bolster up our OLine. If we go with the trade down senario, I will be very dissapointed if we dont take 3 or more linemen in this draft. We have been ignoring our biggest weakness for 3 years now and are going to have to make up for it with multipule picks. IMO we need a LT, a RT, and a Guard that can start on either side of the line. As much as some people on this MB like Pitts at LT, I havent been impressed at all. I do believe he is our best lineman that we have at the moment, but he should be playing Guard IMHO. Am I the only person that has noticed that when we are in passing situations Pitts lines up almost a full yard behind the LOS? He has been penalized for the a couple times this season already, and other times I dont know how he gets away with it. The reason I mentioned that we need a RT is because Todd Wade cannot pass block to save his life. He is a moutain of a man, but he also is about as mobile as one. Ive seen on numerous times where he gets beat to the outside w/o even getting a hand on the defender. He has a huge contract so he might start next year while the rookie works on his strength, weight (if a problem), and technique. Either way he needs to be phased out of our line or switched to Guard. I also think we need to draft a Guard because Weigart is often injured and we also need solid depth behind our starters. As much as we need defensive help, IMO we should fix the offense first with OL and a TE (TE in either draft or FA). We can pick up a few key defenders in the draft to help this year, then spend higher picks in next years draft to solidify our defense. Well thats my

I'd like to see Adrian Peterson come out early in 2007 and we get him (probably have to draft up to reach him)

2wins
2)San Francisco - Maybe Bush, not Leinart 3)Green Bay - Maybe Bush, not Leinart 4)N.O - Maybe Leinart, not Bush 5)N.Y. Jets - Either one, although more likely Bush than Leinart 3 wins 6)Titans - Either one somewhat likely 7)Arizona - Ditto The question is: how many of them are looking at D'Brickshaw too? I'm not too familiar with all their lines/needs, but I think SF just signed an LT to a big deal, GB might need someone on the line, although not necessarily an LT, and I'm not sure about the rest. |

Trade our # 1 overall for the 2nd spot or so, and still get reggie Bush, and have two #1 next year in the top five, and get Vince Young and Adrian Peterson
that would be a dream come true

2wins 2)San Francisco (Barlow is a joke and gore can be used as a 3rd down back) 3)Green bay(green is likely on his way out 4)N.O. (mcallister often injured) 5)N.Y.Jets (martin is old) 3 wins 6)Titans (Brown but you could always use a pair of good backs, look at KC) 7)Arizona (shipp and arrington) So in essence, just about anyone on this list Sans Texans and Cardinals

Here are the teams that will likely be in the top of the draft:
Arizona Baltimore Cleveland Green Bay Houston Miami New Orleans NY Jets Oakland San Francisco Tennessee Arizona, Baltimore, Cleveland, and Miami would definitely be looking to upgrade QB and get Leinart or one of the other top few QBs. The Jets, Saints, and Oakland could also be interested in a QB since Pennington keeps getting hurt, Collins is getting old, and Brooks is turnover-prone and still hasn't managed to run their offense with a great RB and a ton of fast WRs. Green Bay might be looking for a replacement for Ahman Green and his injury and fumble problems, the Jets may be looking to get a RB since Martin is getting old, maybe Cleveland would look to get a top RB although they just brought in Droughns and have Suggs and Green young and waiting, and the 49ers would definitely love to get Bush, otherwise none of these teams would likely draft a top RB, much less trade up to get one. Arizona just drafted Arrington last year, Baltimore has Jamal Lewis and Chester Taylor has looked pretty good, the Dolphins just got Ronnie Brown and still have Ricky Williams, New Orleans has Deuce McAllister, Oakland has LaMont Jordan, and Tennessee has Chris Brown. |

no Bush is a Jr. but it is basically guaranteed that he will come out in the draft.
