"I think it's hard to say anything is fair when a guy losses his job, expecially with the job he's done for us" Carr said about Capers. Fair??? So, are you sending a message through the media that you think that when McNair fires Capers that he is "unfair"??? Newsflash...if he does not do exactly that, and soon, then he is not being "fair" to you, the team or the fans. Speaking of "fair", how "fair" has it been for you to play behind this line and the rediculous shuffling moves of it for the last 4 years??? "especially with the job he's done for us" ... now I am really worried that those sacks have caused concussions that have gone unreported. "A win (Sunday) would be big for us and a lot of people in this organization" The problem (team direction) is bigger than a win Sunday will solve DC IMO. Loyalty is a noble thing and hope that the quote above is just a brain cramp display of it because you should also have a lot of loyalty to the owner that made you rich and ponied up for the 3rd highest payroll in the league to get you some help to win with. |

Considering the shark infested waters that is the news media, I think Carr is playing it smart and keeping it vanilla. If he says what he really feels (whatever that may be), he knows that public perception will crucify him.
Heck, Randy Moss is getting media fire because of his SILENCE during an interview! David Carr is too much of a class act to disrespect his coaches or team in the media, and I, for one, have a lot of respect for his self-restraint and honorable perspective. |

So you would rather have a team full of TO's that make themselves look like asses because they do nothing but bad mouth coaches and players?????
I think that was a classy move by Carr and everybody else they quoted in that article that you mysteriously failed to mention....

It's almost as if this franchise is taking on an ''It's ok to lose'' personality. Hopefully McNair's firing of Capers will be the change of that. Sure, Capers is an honest, stand up guy, but he is not winning football games. Personality or not, the results are what matter.

I don't know why everyone gets offended when people say nice things about Dom. Dom may not be a good head coach but he is a hell of a Man. People read way too much into comments like this.

Talk about can't win for trying. Can you imagine the impeach Carr threads if he publicly threw Dom under the bus? "Nice leadership their Carr--try looking to yourself--can't accept his own responsibility..."

And for the record, I have been and remain strongly a DC supporter. I want to see #8 in a Texan uniform for years and am just praying we get through this mess quickly enough before serious damage is done between him, other players, the fans and ownership. |

Personal attacks have no place in a legitimate debate about a head coach's effectiveness as a leader and a football strategist, IMO. |

Do you think that is all there is to his comment or was it the first shot over the bow of a "save Dom" campaign lead by number 8 aimed at McNair using the media as the messenger? |

Looks like the Carr camp is going on the offensive. Need to make sure that image is intact to make nice with the next GM and coach.

or to go with the Carr grading out on film and underperforming thought, perhaps even Carr is aware that if Capers and company leave after this season he might be watching the game from the bench area himself. Capers has been loyal to Carr almost to the point of getting himself fired for it. Gotta admire that kind of loyalty. As I admire Carr for returning it back in those comments.
Thats how I read those comments, personally. |

If Carr had pulled out 2-minute miracles like John Elway, he could call out Capers the way Elway argued with Reeves. Reeves was an old-school conservative philosophy coach that played it much like Capers does, only within the last 2-minute of a half, Elway got to run things so he was more effective. Carr has never had this opportunity, so, no, I'm not bashing Carr on this point.

Also, my point was not that he should in anyway be criticizing Capers or calling him out. Of course he should never say anything if he can't say something positive about a fellow teammate or coach but as I said earlier it just sounded to me like he moved beyond support to taking a shot at another agenda...I guess time will tell. |

"I don't know why everyone gets offended when people say nice things about Dom." -- vinny
Because it's a heck of a lot easier to like somebody's grandpa charm when we're not getting our brains bashed out every weekend. I don't chuckle after an **** whipping on Sunday and say to myself, "Well...at least he's a great guy." I agree he's a great man. But why are you so adamant about defending him? Carr is a class guy, as well, and you are throwing him under the bus lately. But not with Capers...he's a guy worth defending in your eyes. I guess we're all different and that's OK. But I just find it funny how people pick and choose in their own eyes who is worth defending and who is worth throwing under the bus. Personally, I think Capers deserves to be fired five weeks ago. I'm in the camp that says re-structure Carr's contract to pay him lower and see what he can do next year or the next. He hasn't done the job I desire, and he's got a lot to prove, but Capers has definitely been the weaker of the two guys in my opinion. When a company goes bankrupt, nobody ever says it's the janitor's fault (Carr) for not mopping better....they point to the man at the top (Capers). He was hired for his character, and he built a respectful team with class and dignity. It was a great foundation, and now we can build on top of it. He did his job and played his role...but now it's time to graduate. Or, we could just drink coca-cola and peanuts on Sunday and slap our knees when old Dom grits his teeth and slaps his notes onto his knees when we don't make that 3rd and 25. |
