Default Time keeps on ticking....

Into the future!!! Only 4 days left! Man I feel like a kid on Christmas eve, just knowing that big box with the pretty wrapping and gigantic bow, is the Super Bowl Championship I have always wanted. What are you going to do for the next four days?

2004 training camp

The Texans' third training camp is nearly upon us and once again fans will have numerous chances to catch the action at the team's Reliant Park training facility.

Training camp tickets were made available at Foley's Ticketmaster outlets on July 17 and are now sold out. Open training camp dates are August 2, 9, 11, 17 and 19 from 7-9 p.m. Gates open at 6 p.m. As always, there are plenty of interactive games and refreshments available.

The Texans report for camp on the night of July 29. The players will take the conditioning test on July 30, then hit the field for their first two-a-day session on July 31. The Texans will alternate two-a-days with one afternoon practice for the first six days of camp before the Dolphins arrive in Houston for two practices and a scrimmage in Reliant Stadium on August 7.

The Texans kick off their preseason slate the following Saturday at home against the Cowboys. Houston travels to Pittsburgh for its second preseason game on August 21.

The Texans break camp two days later and resume their normal game week schedule for their third preseason game, a road date with the Broncos on Aug. 27. That's when you can expect the most action for the starters.

All NFL teams must cut to 65 players by August 31. The Texans wrap up their preseason on Thursday, September 2, at home against Tampa Bay. The final cutdown to 53 players must be made by September 5. Practice squads, which have been increased from five to eight players, can be established the following day. Then it's onto preparations for the regular season opener against the Chargers.

We'll have daily coverage from camp once the players report. Meanwhile, here's our training camp release to get you prepared.
