Default New Texan Only Mock

1. D'Brick
2. Dumervile
3a. Davin Joseph
3b. Dwayne Slay
4. Steve Smith WR. USC
5. Will Montgomery OG Virginia Tech
6. Kedric Golston DT Georgia
7. Chad Anderson MLB Kentucky

Summery:
The Texans adress their two largest needs with D'brick and Dumervile who provides instant pass rush. Slay helps replaces colmen, providing a forces WR's will fear. Smith could be another late round steal. Montgomery will have a year to develop but should be solid. I like what i have heard about Golston so far, but i was wondering if WAGS has an opinion. Anderson is a long shot, but should help on special teams, and possibly be put on the practice squad for future needs.

I am assuming that we switch to a 4-3 and that with the addition of dumervile at DE, babin stays at OLB. Peek moves down to DE. Walker is released. My projected look with this senerio:

Peek, TJ, Robaire, Dumervile

Greenwood, Polk, Babin
Daunta Bucanhon
Slay Earl

AJ Gaffeny Dbrick, Joseph, Hogden, Pitts, Wade, Mathis
Carr
Davis Noris

That took a little time, so tell me how you like that set-up, because i love it!

Take him off your list. Golston was one of the Georgia players who sold their SEC championship rings a few years ago. He is a disgrace. This season he also got in a fight with one of the linebackers in practice. Golston was suspended two games I believe and the linebacker was kicked off the team. Gotta love Georgia football.

One problem, we need a TE in this draft. Unless of course we sign randy mcmichael.

R. Mcmichael is not gonna get free of Miami. Wags you are right on Golston is a 2 gap technique guy who has questionable ethics and talent. Slay is a big hitter, but he wont be that major in the pros Threat from the U is a better prospect or Merriweather and moving him to FS. D'brick should be switched to Winston, Dumerville is a good pass rusher, but so was babin, I like the kid from N.C. Davin Joseph wont last that long, but if he does sweet, but he will not start so take him out of the lineup cause that Oline you have is worse than what we have now there will not be a G that comes out and be better than McKinney his first year. Steve Smith lasting that long would be a miracle, but also if he last sweet. If not we take a TE in that pick.

interesting reply with lots of thoughts. i'll start from the top:

McMichael will not get away from miami.

Golston has the talent, but his work ethic has been called into question, but i did not know it was as bad as wags says.

Slay is not a top pro prospect, but adds a different deminsion that is not very common. Threat is a better prospect, but i still like big hitters.

D'brick and Winston are both good, but for what we need, D'brick fits us better. Winston is more of a mauler, but D'brick is a pass blocking specialist.

Dumervile will be a very sucessful pro, and teams will regret passing him up.

Davin Joseph and Giles are a toss up. Either one or both could be there. Giles is the top pick and i feel both would start.

Steve Smith is still flying under the radar and could fall to us.

I dont feel there is a TE that is worth taking at any of the picks we have that anyone would be happy with. Pope and Lewis will be gone in the first. No TE after that would be a better pick.
