Let's make a list of who we can drop at the end of the year:
1. Seth Wand 2. Corey Bradford (nobody else even CALLED him last year when he was available) 3. Not Todd Wade (nope, we're stuck with his contract against the cap, even if we do dump him) 4. Weigert? (*might be nice if he practiced more than 3 times per season) 5. McKinney (dare we drop an Aggie, even if he's SO overrated it's comical?) 6. Milford Brown (waste of a supplemental pick) 7. Buchannon (can we have the draft picks back?) 8. Walker (talks a great game, has played exactly two great games since '02) 9. Babin (nope, he signed at least a 3-year deal, right?) What other names can anyone else come up with? |

I would completely agree with you about Carr, and saving the $8M bonus, but I have a question:
Who do we have currently, or could we lure, that would be better? Or more importantly, give us a better chance to win? Please don't say Banks - with our line, he'd fumble 8 times per game. Cheaper yes, better chance to win: NO. |

With Carr as our QB we can consentrate on the lines not having to worry about the QB. BTW the pass from Carr to Bradford was perfect....

That's true, it was perfectly thrown. But to our worst receiver.
I like Carr overall, but would move him if it made business sense. And right now it doesn't make sense. How many more guaranteed years are on Walker's deal? Again, he was another one we resigned when no one else was even calling about him. |

Walker is one of the few Texans that could start on most any NFL team. AJ and Dunta are the other two.

what about Coleman? he is soft, the Texans are constantly exploited down the middle, he does not hit like a Safety with a 3 million tag & he's signed thru 2007.

Then let WAlker go to another team. His medical bills aren't worth it to me. Draft and play more young guys.

ccdude I think you are right. Those guys will likely be back. We might want to think about moving Wade to RG if we have a chance. I know Wand is terrible at LT, but at RT he would be functional. Then again if we grab a elite LT he will be there anyway. Our next coaching staff will be smart and start the rookie Winston at RT for some games maybe even the season. Look for Pitts, McKinney, Hodg or Rookie, Weigert/Wade, Winston/rookie/Wand. We will cut guys like chamberlain, hollings(who looked really slow in his return), and Riley. These guys are all likely to be gone.

Walker is signed through '09. Cut him prior to then and he counts $1.8 million per year in dead money against the cap. Example: even if he plays next year and is cut after the 2006 season, he will count ($1.8 million x 3 =) $5.4 million against the cap when he's cut for not playing in '07, '08, and '09. Between this and Todd Wade's deal, we have some serious future cap money tied up.

If, god willing *prays*, we replace our coaches next season.. we will be surprised at who goes..and who stays.
Any time there is a big "changing of the guard"..certain players who we feel are "sure things" will be cut....and others that we feel are "a waste of space".. will become starters. Personally...Id like to see Seth Wand at RT.. and id like to see Wells getting more carries. |

Banks for one has he not proven he can win when he has started for us? so yes he does give us a better chance to win understand we have a mediocre QB that no way in the world deserves 8 million. i rather give those 8 million to our kicker brown that has deserved it more than our great Qb Carr.
