Hey guys, well Sundays almost near, and I thought we should take a look at the matchups that will be important to the outcome of this weekends game, and what each team needs to do to win.
1. Andre Johnson vs. Rashean Mathis Certainly, Johnson had his way with Mathis last year. However, this year Mathis is playing lights out football for us. IMO, hes our best player. If Johnson isnt playing, Rashean will be on Gaffney or whoever your 2nd WR is. 2. David Carr vs. Jaguars D-line Dont look yet, but the Jags have a pass rush this year. Reggie Hayward totally dominated the Rams game. He didnt get a sack, but has 5 and half in 7 games. John Henderson can get to the QB, and our underdog DE Paul Spicer has 5 sacks as well. (Just to give you some insight on Spicer, his brother was killed two weeks ago, and he played in both games since then. The Rams DE whos name escapes me had his brother killed 3 weeks ago, and hasnt played since. Our guy has a ton of heart). The Texans O line has to come ready to play this week, because Carr will get killed. We knocked 2 QBs out of one game so far this year, and I personally dont want to see Carr get K Oed so lets hope your O line brings it. 3. Domanick Davis vs. Jaguars Run D Ive been extremely disappointed with the Jags run D this year, and quite frankly its embarassing to come talk to you guys about it. If the Texans plan on winning this game, DD needs to put his game face on and help take some pressure off Carr. 4. Jerome Mathis vs Jaguars Special Teams Ive seen him play. You dont have to tell me the kids a gamer. The Jags need to watch him. 5. Texans Run D vs. Fred Taylor Hey, Freddy is getting goin again this year. Last week he ran for about 170 yards and actually scored a TD. 6. Jaguars WRs vs. Texans secondary I know how you guys feel about P. Buchanon, especially his tackling ''ability.'' You all know that the Jags WRs are very big, Jimmy Smith being the shortest at 6'2. But what most people dont know is that they are very tough as well. When Reggie Williams actually catches the ball and isnt busy dancing, he has the ability to run people over. But I want you to pay close attention to Ernest Wilford this weekend. He caught 6 balls for 145 yards and a great TD last week. He should be starting this week. Texans DBs need to bring the wood and not tackle poorly this week. To Win: Houston Texans Run the ball, and dont stop Protect Carr Get WR seperation and catch the ball Sustain long drives Get motivated Make a few big plays, especially on special teams Stop the Run Rush the QB and finally, Score more points. Its as simple as that. Jacksonville Jaguars Stop the run Put pressure on Carr and make him make bad decisions Throw it up top. The Jags are going to have a big height advantage again this week, and I think they need to throw it Buchanons way early and often. Run it w/ Fred. It worked last week, then they stopped. Play better on special teams, its one of the biggest reasons we lost last week. Catch the ball. Our WRs havent been too good this year on catching the ball, especially (shocker here) Reggie Williams. (Byron needs to stop throwing it about 10 million miles/hour however. Hard to catch a ball as fast as he throws it. Gettin hit would leave a hole coming out you can bet )Get pumped. The Texans owned us last year, make up for it. This should be a good game. The 13.5 line from Vegas is a joke. I think this will be a close game, and now Im going to put on my teal covered glasses for my prediction. Jags 21 Texans 17 Heres to a great game and no injuries, Ive got alot of respect for your team and you the fans. Go Jags! |

Its gonna be a close game. Texans will win if AJ is back, but if he is not, its in the air.

Also, just on a sidebar, in case you guys havent heard, the Jaguars and the City of Jacksonville came to an agreement this week. The Jaguars arent going anywhere. For all those of you who had questions about what was going on.
Also, we havent had a blackout this year and are averaging about 66000 tickets or more per game, so things are looking up for our team. Texans vs. Jaguars will be a rivalry for years to come!

Gojags weird what happens in a crappy town when you win. Not saying anything bad about J-Ville, but it is not a high end kinda place. Anyway Texans owned you last year. It will be a close game, but we pull it out. Why?
Jags are terrible on special teams. Jags play down to their competition. If Leftwich gets pressured he makes terrible throws. Other than Smith and Wilford you dont have anyone who can catch and Wilford is iffy. Jags D while very good is very aggressive and will fall for any and every play fake in the book. Jags safeties bite on everything. Watching the Rams game I felt bad for the corners. Jags just like to give it up to the Texans in hope that you can move to Houston. Okay this last one was a shot on the city and completely uncalled for or was it? |

Dude, calm down and yes I have been to Jacksonville many times, I have an uncle that lives there and is an avid J-Ville fan. I take shots on the spot all the time. I have seen all of J-Villes games because I have the NFLpackage. I have no problem with Jville. One your safeties do bite on everything. Wilford is iffy, does he come up with big plays on occasion, but he can easily be pushed off his route and he does not fight for the ball well. Houston is not the fattest city in America anymore we are like 3rd. You all special teams is run of the mill so I should have not said terrible but run of the mill. And since you did not dispute the fact that you play down to your competition I will not say anymore on that. Ohh and yes our team is doing very very very bad, but at least we get another win on Sunday....

Ernest "Iffy" Wilford went off for 145 yards and a TD last week. Not bad for such an iffy WR. We haven't seen anything like that around here for a while. Heck, we don't even throw for 100 net yards a game...for the team.

Del Rio is a good coach. He's not an *****. He will know that all he has to do to win is expect us to run, run, pass, punt. Any audible means a change from one side to the other. Don't pass to Dunta's side. Double-cover AJ. Blitz the line cause they have more holes than swiss cheese. Good luck, and I hope there are no injuries!

Wilford doesn't fight for the ball well? Wrong. He did it on several occations against St.Louis, and multiple times in the past. My mistake. 3rd fattest city. Very cocky of you to already mark down Houston's second win. Will you eat your crow if/when the Jags win? I will be over here congradulating if the texans win. I have a feeling you wont. |

We will see, but the outcome looks positive. Domanick on the otherhand has been downgraded to questionable, but I would still believe he would be playing. |

Man if J-Ville wins which is very likely the way we play it is not hard to beat us stack 8 men in the box and we will run right into it 3 downs in a row. Vinny I understand that Wilford had a big game and has many big catches he is kinda our version of jabar gaffney with less yards, but two more touchdowns. Deke Cooper is routinely out of position and I will give you that Deon Grant is better, but he bites also, he did it with Carolina and he has done it several times this year. Heath Millers big catch comes to mind. Hey if we Texans fans dont stay cocky what really do we have.

DD may be slowed due to fluid build up in his knee, but he should be ok for the game. Fred Taylor is scary cause if he is really healthy he is in the top 5 backs in the league maybe even number 3 behind LT and Shaun Alexander. hey what is going on with the right side of you alls line lately

dont get me wrong I am not saying your o-line is bad and trust me we know bad o-lines, but you all are not playing as well as last year. The right side looks shakier than usual and the left side seems pretty solid. I just noticed watching the games and it seems that the right side is the best side to blitz on other than that Byron can see it coming.

Ok, here is my main question because I've only been able to see 2 Jaguar games this season:
Whats up with the rushing defense? You guys are listed as 26th. Is it because of the linebackers on the outside? |
