I see Capers leaving along with Pendry, Fangio and a few others. Anybody who
had input on coaching the o-line should leave, the DB's coach should leave(why do they play so soft), TE's coach should leave ( they could have done more to improve billy), WR's coach should leave (what kind of drills do they practice, I don't think any of them have to do with catching the ball), the RB coach should leave (remember how close the RB's used to line up behind carr, only bout 3-4 yards, and they still do sometimes), The conditioning coach needs to get fired, whoever is thier motivational speaker should get fired. Out of the players: Joppru how do you tear an ACL without getting hit (cough, roids, cough) Holings-you may be good but you can't find the playing field, Wade, Miami already has another Wade so your screwed, Greenwood-you fell short of expectations, P-Buch trade him to Spain and we'll finally see you prosper as a matador. Anybody backing the O-line (if ya can't start on the worst O-line then I don't know where ya should go).................the end |

I think the DB coach should stay. Hoke was good last year.

If we hire a new coach, then I would much rather have him bring in his staff. Although it worked well for Parcells in Dallas, keeping other peoples staff may be a mistake.

Speaking of Dunta, he just called to remind me to come out early for the Browns game this Sunday. I see it as an omen that my favorite player would call for my support. The first win of '05 is forthcoming!

It's hard to separate fact from fiction at this stage of the game, but I'd say Hoke has done well enough to merit a position somewhere. Obviously, Dunta has great talent, but Hoke's done a lot of work with him. I think he's also done some great work with Earl and CC Brown, neither of whom were expected to make the team, IIRC. Coleman's move to free safety has been largely overlooked because Coleman is a vet, but there's some coaching going on there as well. Buchanon is the only sore spot, really. While I think they overestimate Faggins' ability, he has improved since he's come on the team. The fact that they ranked so poorly, in terms of statistics, has more to do with the lack of QB pressue than anything else, IMO. They play zones a bit too frequently for my liking as well, which contributes to the stats. The zone coverages are a byproduct of the bend-don't-break philosophy that we play, which isn't a direct reflection of Hoke.

What do you mean Earl was never expected to make the team? Casserly was all giddy about getting the guy that had gone into his last college year ranked as the #2 safety. Plus the Texans had what at SS?--a guy who is no longer in the league. CC maybe not, but IMO they expected Earl to make the team.

Couple of things. 1. When your D-line is just pathetic at rushing the passer your Secondary is going to feel it. 2. We face Peyton Manning twice a year. That is not good for your stats. 3. Do we ever effectively blitz? "other than Dunta" - ummmm....how many DBs are there? Not many. Plus CC Brown looks decent too. Yes they need work, big time. But they are not even close to the worst of of the Texans problems. Start with both O & D Lines, our WRs & TE, LBs. Then you we have issues at QB (hard to tell), then I would say our DBs. |

It was pre-recorded for season ticket holders. Still, pretty cool.

When a team is 0-6 , never held a lead with the worst defense and offense in the league, not one person is immune from firing. there will be some suvivors, but in total organizational meltdown situation no job should safe.

The only thing I think about CC Brown is that he's played above his 5th round selection. I do not believe he is a starting caliber SS in the NFL. He gets run over by RBs and messes up in coverage. Earl was hurt early on and for some reason the coaches fell in love w/ Brown. He may play with a lot of effort but I want results. Anyone who wants to say he's only a rookie, I say let's start a guy with more experience plus great potential, Earl.
I just got the recorded message from Robinson too, asking me to come to the game. Sounds like more desparation from a sinking ship. When they have to get their only player who's seemed to play up to his potential for the year to call people who already own tickets to get you to come to a game where we're picked to win, it's almost like begging. Hoke and Oden (the DB coaches) should stay as that's been one of the few consistent bright spots on our team in the last couple years.
I don't have much of a problem with Chick Harris or Kippy Brown (RB and WR coaches) or Mike London (DL coach), so depending on the new head coaching staff that will likely come in we could hang on to them too. Last edited by MorKnolle; 10-28-2005 at 04:06 PM. |

FIRE THEM ALL!!!!!!! Fire any coaches, motivational speakers, even the damn trainers....Lets start fresh and new and find someone who can MAKE these guys play. I think our players have potential, but no one to make it show.

The players have lost any fire that they once had and Hoke and then the DL guys are some of the few people that still play with heart and fire and I think those coaches do a pretty good job anyways so I would say keep them around. I think the RB and WR coaches are ok, but keeping them depends entirely on what system we have next year.
As far as players go, I would definitely keep David Carr, Domanick Davis, Vernand Morency, Moran Norrs, Andre Johnson, Jabar Gaffney, Jerome Mathis, Derrick Armstrong, Robaire Smith, Seth Payne, Antwan Peek, Dunta Robinson, and CC Brown. These picks are disregarding any salary cap obligations we would have to keep to any other players that we would cut and is going strictly on how they are playing and whether they would be worth keeping around for a new system that is brought in. |

I'm just trying to say, these players have great talent which I think is not being refined through coaching, I think the staff also does not make the players feel any good about thier strong points and insist that they play to what their system ask for. Also I got carried away on the player evaluations, but I just don't see any place for them on the team, I would want to have durable players with potential. The NFL doesn't give ppl many chances, we are giving some players too much opportunity which they can't even show casue they are injured or don't have the depth to cut them. Remember the Patriots, it seems whenever one of their players gets injured they have a backup who can play his strongpoints and not get thier weakpoints exposed, Randall Gay, and I bet the Pats don't put up with inconsisitency.
