Does this team scare anyone else?
Their O-line beefed up. Their D-line beefed up. Their secondary is a good tight group. WR's could use some youth. But if they get Collins, or Gannon steps back up to the plate, they could make a long run into winter.

nah i think they still have too many problems, both on and off the field. they did get some nice talent but they are still old.
Ted Washington was their best pickup.. but thats about all im worried about. I think Gallery will be adequate this year.. but will need another year or two to start dominating. Oakland and KC as the only teams in their division that are worth a flip though.. so its possible they may take the division from KC this year.. but id put my money on KC hitting the playoffs again. |

Didn't Sapp do to them? I am pretty sure I would rather have Sapp than Washington. Age and weight being the primary reasons.

I just think sapp is overrated. i dont think sapp will flourish in Oakland like he did in Tampa. He could prove me wrong though.. we will see.

I think they should be significantly better but there are a few things that could hold them back:
1. Who is their featured back? If they can find one (Fargas?) then that will take pressure off of Gannon. Plus Norv Turner loves to run the ball. 2. Will Porter return to form? We saw last year what his absence did to the team. His speed keeps defenses honest, and opens the middle of the field for Rice and Brown. I'd also like to see if Jolley can return to the receiving TE he was 2 years ago. 3. Norv Turner. The guy doesn't have a good track record. That doesn't bode well for the Raiders. I think they will be competitive. It is just a matter of how competitive. I hope they sign Collins BTW. |

I dont think you are going to be able to run on them, but there offense lacks any type of speed (Except Francis from TT).

i think the raiders will be a better team because hey...there isn't too much room for them to fall down...i still think they'll be drafting around the 10th spot though...they still need a runningback and some youth...this offseason all their FA's were older vets...but they did have a really good draft in my mind

The Raiders will be better this year, just due the fact they had bad luck last year. Won't be that bad this year, and the new additions will help, but until the skill positions get younger they will have trouble making the playoffs again.

RAIDER'S, come on now. I thought there main priority coming into the Draft was GET A WR. They had every WR sitting there in their lap they went with Robert Gallery. Don't get me wrong they now have a franchise LT but still they have 80 year old men running passing routes for them, it's like having your grandpa running a slant in an arizona game trying not to get hit by Adrian Wilson. I just think they should have taken Fitz, or Williams and then traded up back into the first to pick up another solid player.

Raiders have nowhere else to go but up. They've done a good job in the free agent market, got rid of the coach that every on didn't respect any more and the moral has to higher this year. They should be better than .500 and I can't wait to see them in Houston.

The Raiders will probably get a bit of a "Dead Cat Bounce" this year. Maybe 8-8, but I see them imploding next year do to old age.

I too agree that they need youth on their route runners. I think it'd be in their best interest to not do so well this next season so they get some high picks in next year's draft for WRs. They've been making bad decisions since the start of their last season. Then they jump into the FA period and pick up really old guys to compliment other old guys, WTH?
Didn't they go late WR late in the draft this year?

Raiders really have signed on some good players that should make that team very intersting. Gallery was a good pick, and they are trying to "rebuild" the O by starting with the OL first. I'm pretty sure Norv Turner knows what he is doing with the offense.

Raiders will be somewhat better next season; maybe 6 to 8 wins. They are still old and still have holes to fill ; for example, their running game. I guess they are hoping J. Fargas is going to step up. I think they did the right thing in drafting Gallery and Grove. With Kennedy's retirement and Robbins' injury, they had to upgrade the OL; otherwise QB will get killed again. I don't think Tuiasoupo(sp?) is the answer. I was surprised they chose Francis ahead of Wilford and Cotchery in 4th. Anyway, it should be fun when they come visiting us.

Gannon is still there, and they will probably most likely get a QB. I just don't see Tuiasoupo (Sp?) being the answer either. I read or heard somewhere that Raiders are waiting till June 1st to get a RB.

Sapp will be good again, cause again, he will have another good guy next to him in Washington. If he went to the Cardinals or something, I dont think hed do as good. Thats why hes a little overrated, he needs help around him to be productive.

as long as the raiders have the al davis mentality they'll be tough...i don't know how sapp is going to fit into their defense...there has been talk about them switching to a 3-4...anyone else getting tired of other teams switching to the 3-4 defense
