[sarcasm] [totally reaching] [needed a laugh]How about me put him in as a full back to block for Carr once the Tackles get beaten... i guess i should have said if there huh???.... on second though, I probably have it right, Riley is still on the right side now. Anyway, if he can hold on to the ball or if we put some stick'em on his gloves he can catch the ball and we can use him on short yardage plays or Carr could pitch it to him instead of taking sacks all the time. 6'7", 320lbs of check down option baby![/needed a laugh] [/totally reaching] [/sarcasm]
I do love my team! Go Texans! |

oddly enough i kinda like that. heres another...use our 6th best lineman as the tightend kinda like they did with wand his rookie year.
so now we have 7 offensive linemen on the field on any given play. lol. geez, the signs of desperation are rampant on this board.

An elidgible lineman on every down who almost blocks like a tackle. that has merit. Could open some serious holes on run plays as well. I think they should go back to that for a few series and see how it shakes out.
maybe we haven't seen or heard from Wand cause they are trying to trim him down and make him into a TE. They had him play everthing else but WR, RB, and QB. I'm sure if he could throw worth a damn he'd be listed on the depth chart as a 4th QB by now. I just want to know what he did/said that got him so black listed. It's like someone from MIB came in with their flashy thingy and made Capers and crew forget he ever existed. |

I still think Wand's absence is due to a giant government cover-up, but I have to admit, seeing another blocker on the line would be nice. Maybe his presence on the line would act as a kind of fomite to infect the rest of the line with a sense of duty.

Big guys have trouble blocking in space and thats why you don't see as many TE's (you see some...we saw it here at times) in at FB when teams go to a blocking back in passing situations. The more Herman Munster-like the blocker the easier the quick, explosive, NFL defender can exploit them in space and defeat a block.

I am all for giving Carr an extra .5 to 1 second so that we can actually see if he is worth keeping. If this occurs then we all will be able to see the root cause in the malaise of our passing game.

We need to win this dern game. The more I read our thoughts, including my own, on what to do all I can think of is speeding up the motion of the highlights and synchronizing it to that old Benny Hill music.

just run a double te set with wand and riley (or whoever?) as the te's...
we dont use our tes anyway...cause we only have 1 downfield threat who happens to be injured... and teams are already in the box trying to stop the run. and this way davis can do what he does best on passing plays...go to the line of scrimmage...turn around...catch the ball if thrown and get 2 yards...yippe! hes had heck picking up the blitz...might as well use him for something hes good at on passing plays

I've got a crazy idea. I know it's way out there but hear me out. Why don't we try using Seth Wand AS A FRIGGIN TACKLE!" Did you hear that Dom? Use him as a "TACKLE!
You don't go from starting LT to not even one of the 5 best linemen on the team in one off-season with zero chance to compete for your job. If he's that bad then he had no business in there during 2004. Either way, this year or last year, someone coaching the Houston Texans lied to us or is full of Toro patties.

Wand must be a mentally fragile guy. The rationale for these types of moves is usually something that is only known from within the 53 guys on the field and the staff. I have not heard any outcry from the team or DC, but I may have missed it.

I started this threa as light-hearted humor poking fun at the fact that Wand seems to have disappeared and been erased from the coaches minds as if by alien abduction. Please don't take any of my comments on this topic as a serious solution to our blocking issues.

I dunno.... but I think Wand becomes a RFA this offseason so we'll see if
the Texans (whoever the GM & HC are then), wants to match that big offer he's bound to get. |
