It's been a wonderful, wild and wacky September in the NFL.

Here's a look at eight things that went wrong in the first month of the 2005 campaign — the horrible, the bad, the ugly ... and Mike Sherman — and where it's headed the rest of the way.

1. David Carr
You wonder if Carr just fell down on his bye-week out of habit. The former No. 1 overall pick has been sacked a whopping 13 times. Sure, it's easy to blame the protection, but after talking about this subject to Texans coach Dom Capers, he painted the picture that Carr must make better and quicker decisions with the ball. Carr's only tossed one touchdown pass this year against three interceptions. What's laughable is the lack of times he's thrown in the direction of Andre Johnson, who has just seven catches. Johnson has the athleticism to make a play, even when doubled. Carr, as Capers pointed out, also must check down when receivers are covered and throw to Dominick Davis. Joe Pendry takes over for Chris Palmer as offensive coordinator, and I think that's a plus. Pendry is a Capers' guy, and they will be on the same page. Carr can't be this horrific, this tough to watch, can he?

I guess the "Author" didn't see AJ miss those catchable ball thrown by Carr in the first 2 games. ....sigh......I guess it's all Carr's fault....or was it Palmers....or is it the line....or is it ther personnel....or is it the defense.....OR IS IT A TOTAL TEAM IMPLOSION?

Sometimes I wonder if they really watch the games or if they just look at stat sheets before they throw out this stuff. Carr needs to shoulder some of the blame but not even close to all of it.

Reporters don't watch every game, for fans around the rest of the league the info provided on the Texans is adequate, I'm sure other NFL fans complain about their write up in these one paragraph blurbs too. I don't see you guys blowing steam about what was written about the other teams mentioned. Primarily because what was written there just about covers what you know about those teams.

OK, who wants the soapbox next?

There is no way for these guys to see all of the games. They talk out of their ***** after reading the stats lines.
