Well, that could go both ways...

If he's focused on the O-Line, then it seems as if he would emphasize them in the schemes...but then again, he was responsible for the O-Line, which at this point in the season, hasn't really gotten high praises.

Are you saying Carr will be getting better or worse protection?

Eh, yes and no. He's been used semi-sparingly on plays that are more likely to be running plays. His big (understatement) body has been fairly effective at redirecting runners, which is what his job is in the Dungy defense. As he drops excess weight and learns the system, he'll become more and more effective.

The real shift has come in two fashions: first, the veteran players are getting more comfortable with the system. As Dungy put it, they can now react instead of having to think. Freeney constantly being double teamed opens up the door for the other 3 D-Lineman (who are all atypically quick)to pressure inwards. For example, we have 3 D-Linemen in or tied for the top 10 in sacks this year. None of them are Freeney. Freeney doesn't need to get 4 sacks a game to be effective, all he needs to do it to keep drawing double/triple teams.

The second aspect of our D-Line that has changed is that this year we have a couple other D-Lineman who fit into our system perfectly. We are thus able to interchange them to keep them fresh without missing a beat. I haven't looked at our stats, but it seems as if the majority of our sacks come later in the game...while the O-Line is getting tired, we're still fresh.

We've already commented on that on the Colts MB. He's listed on the Colts.com site and NFL.com as weighing 293...I believe Colts.com reported that he came in ~25-30 lbs over that...lol



He looks even bigger against a D-Line that is intentionally undersized...
