i think The texans can win this game.
The key to the game is stopping willie parker. The texans need to stack the box and force Rothlisberger to throw the ball. The new improved speedier Texans' defense will force some hurried throws and mistakes from their 2nd year QB. D.Robinson is a top CB and can shutdown Hines ward, while P-buc will have no problem covering Randel-El. Peek is a beast and will record a few sacks. i see 3 interceptions once the Texans' pass rush rattles their young inexperienced QB. Carr's new quick passing scheme will finally emerge and he will pick apart an over-rated defense. No-one can cover AJ and he should rack up big numbers. Just throw him the ball early, let him run over the oppossing DBs and set the tone for the game. Breakdown QB: Hou.....(i wouldn't trade Carr for Roth and a #1 pick) RB: Hou.....(DD is is much better than Parker) WR: Hou....(AJ is better than Ward and Randel-El combined) TE: Pit OL: Pit SPT: Hou (KB is solid and the texans have fast returners) DL: Pit LB: Pit CB: Hou (D-Rob is a top 5 corner) S: Hou Coach: Pit Houston wins 17-3 ...see you in the playoffs!!! |

You guys do it all. Good football talk, a great team, and post-game you have a heck of sense of humor. If ever move up north I swear I'm going to become a Bills fan.

I think you pretty much sumed up exactly how I thought we were going to beat the Bills. Substitute Pittsburgh for Buffalo, replace the Steelers names with Bills names and that is exactly how I thought we would win in week one. Few Problems....we have no pass rush and our O-line doesn't work on the weekends, we will continue to run on every first down as we have the past 3 years. |

LBC - caught that too?
"The key to the game is stopping willie parker. The texans need to stack the box and force Rothlisberger to throw the ball. The new improved speedier Texans' defense will force some hurried throws and mistakes from their 2nd year QB." - Billsfan Hmm... yep just about the same. Working along side a Steeler fan, he was worried about the game vs. the Texans as he notes the Steelers always seem to start out 1-1 (of course, that was before this past weekend). Not sure if he's changed his tune since then. Ug - how a win would lighten the team just a bit going into the bye. Add another loss and the bye week will have some interesting talk. |

The Steelers have a lot to improve on and have plenty of flaws. This statement is so far off its not funny though.

I expect DD to have a good day running the ball but my main concern is Andre Johnson. We have a CB and SS who can keep up with him in double coverage however he certainly knows how to get seperation and make the tough catches. It would be interesting to see who out jumped who for a ball between him and CB Ike Taylor lol. Anyway,i look at it, Andre probally will break one for a TD,catch another long pass and catch several passes for first downs. Steelers PK Jeff Reed has made 23 FGs in a row so i see no reason for that to stop. The Bills fan thinking AJ all by himself is better than Ward and Randel El combined is hilarious, along with think Ben isn't very good. The WR group is more than just one WR. Its not like the Steelers haven't proven to be a good team which is something obviously many people still don't believe because of a young QB or believe they have the team carrying Ben. Its one or the other. Ben makes throws in the first half and when the Steelers have a good sized lead, they'll run continually. First half running plays-15 runs for 72 yards. First half passing plays-7 out of 9 for 178 yards. Ben threw 2 passes on the first drive in the second half,2 for 2 for 40 yards and after Parker ran it in for an 11 yard TD run, the score became 27 to 7. After that 8 man in the box occured because Fisher knew the Steelers would run the clock out from then on. Thats why after the Steelers went up 27 to 7,they ran it 22 straight times the rest of the game. With a big lead, why pass? Ben helped to get the lead and after that, the running game took over. |

The question for this game may well be will Mathis play and can he help make a difference. His play on special teams has been encouraging and he has the take it to the house speed. He also has hands and can catch the ball offensively. Does he give Carr the other needed go to receiver we so desperately need? Time will only tell, but he might make enough difference to make the game close. Without someone stepping up we look to be in for a very long day. Losman looked awfully good against us with no pressure and I can't imagine what Mr R would do to us with the same kind of pressure - or lack there of. Can one player make a difference - questionable - but he might help enough to get us going.

i have a wonderful idea for the texans...since the line can't block to begin with let them do what they do best and let the defense in...can you say screen pass...all first quarter till they stop blitzing and rushing then go deep to andre

I thought the theme for the season was "We Live for Sunday"??? O-line needs to get it together and earn those checks.
