Miami beats Denver - This was my upset of the week... I think the Dolphins are going to rebound this year, bigtime. Don't forget that as recently as 2002 they were playing for the division title, and they still have a lot of good defensive playmakers.

San Francisco beats St. Louis - Shocker, but I think Mike Martz might be the worst head coach in the NFL given the level of talent he's working with on that team.

Tampa Bay beats Minnesota - Gruden is going to love his new Cadillac. Culpepper singlehanded gave the ball away five times... that obviously can't happen.

Kansas City destroys New York - Not surprised at this one either. I think the Jets might be the most overrated team in the NFL this year. Pennington's arm is toast. It wasn't much to begin with, and now it looks like he's got even less pop on the ball. I'd be worried if I were a Jets fan.

New Orleans beats Carolina - Emotional factor had to come into play here. Carolina might have to find that winning touch again if they're going to make a run as predicted by many.

Detroit beats Green Bay - This was sad. Maybe Favre should have hung 'em up already. I think the Lions know, from the top down, that they'd better produce with all that talent, or there'll be some wholesale changes coming soon.

Saban is the golden boy in the NFL this year.

This was the upset of the day for me. Don't know whether to laugh hysterically or be afraid!

While not predicted, not that much of a shock factor here.

What % would you give Pennington at this time? Will he improve as the season progresses? Think he is at 100% post surgery or is his career over?

Think New Orleans got lucky. Would call them the Aints, but everyone is so touchy about anything NO now that I may have to quit posting that for the time being.

While very sad to me, Brett does have a consistancy problem that is not spoken about in his last few years. He is still one of the best. Love him to death and he will go another year, but you won't see Green and Gold in Detroit in February.

It's hard to say FILO_girl, but Pennington threw a few passes yesterday that were beyond ugly. It's not so much when he sets and throws, but more when he makes passes that require more arm than body (like the fade in the end zone that missed by a good 5 yards... that thing was wobbling like a dead duck). He didn't have the greatest arm strength to begin with, and I'm thinking that he just hasn't recovered enough to be playing. I think he's hurting his team by being out there.

This is all speculative, mind you, but as a Patriots fan I get to see Pennington play twice a year and he certainly didn't look like he had much pop yesterday.

That is definately an anemometer. I am one of the most die hard weather geek-ettes around. Got my own wireless home weather station (complete with anemometer!) here at my house. Gift from my husband...he is the best.

I would be live online with it on Wunderground but am having software problems. WeatherLink 5.1 is a bummer.
Still trying to get the bugs out. When I do, my weather sticker will be my signature (except at the Jag board, where 41-6 will live on until it is no longer relevent!)

Cool... I live in one of the windiest, wildest places around (the mountains of NH) so I'm pretty much a weather geek myself. Sometime check out this site.
