Default About Steve Foley

I'm curious about why the Texans didn't keep Foley last year. I'm glad he's a Chargers player but how come the Texans didn't re-sign this guy when they had the chance? He had 10 sacks for us last year (and three or four against Peyton Manning).

thanks

Different 3-4 blitz styles between San Diego and Houston.

I never really heard why he decided to go to SD and not Houston. Maybe he didn't want to be part of a young expansion team. Maybe he wanted a guaranteed starting position. Could be many more guesses but I doubt anyone really knows. We picked him up off waivers from the Bengals. I liked him and wondered why he wasn't given the nod that year. He got some playing time but I don't remember him being the starter at ROLB.

Same thing happened with Jeff Posey. That's what happens in FA though. Players have to want to sign with the team and the team has to want to sign the player.
