Travis Johnson gets in fight at camp!!! - Houston Texans Message Board & Forum

I just saw it on the channel 13 news. He got into it with some o-lineman, nobody i recognized. He may be getting a reputation as a loose cannon and somewhat of a hard ***** but i think its a good thing. The Texans have too many nice guys on the team. We need some tenacity especially on the defensive side of the ball. Ray Lewis and the Ravens have that hit em' in the mouth mentality and thats why they are a great defense. With Peak and Johnson out there we may strike some fear in the minds of the opposing offense. Thats just my opinion.

Fighting is not necessarily a bad thing in training camp. We used to see a heck of a lot more out of the Oiler camps. We could use some fire and attitude.

I don't think it is a bad thing. I think it is one of those things where the rookie is trying to establish himself. I could see one or two fights, but after that there shouldn't be anymore (by one person).. Only reason is that you don't want to see that on Sunday afternoon in critical situations.

And I exactly agree with that... if he has that fire, I also want to see in the future a firery guy on the OL that gets upset when Carr is touched.

There will be a fight in every camp. I have said this before....guys with at minimum 250,000 a year jobs on the line, where the guys are expected to be physical, in 100 degree heat...think about.

Fire is nice as long as he doesn't reaggravate the elbow. He's been wearing a huge brace.

As long as the fight don't get to the level of when Micheal Westbrook K.O. Stephen Davis, I don't see any problems.

heh, a D lineman taking the O-liner down. I think TJ could consider it a win.

I agree, a little fight here or there in training camp is a good thing (like Vinny said, it was always a staple at Oilers' camps...shows fire in the belly!).

As long as it's not your offensive and defensive coordinators smacking each other during a regular season game!
