why would anyone be surprised that BoB made a statement
that all 3 were in the game then immediately cut Yates?

He stated that the entire previous staff would be evaluated
on a Saturday and then gave _everyone_ but one of the
coaches their walking papers on Monday.

Just par for the course..

Was his presser before practice today or after? Normally it's after, right?

McNair put in the call for that one coach too, I'm sure.

I expected Yates to be cut.

His ceiling isn't as high as Keenum's and he doesn't bring energy to the game like Keenum.

That said, Keenum isn't a lock to make this roster either.

My bad, was in the middle of editing/adding when I had to take and then make some phone calls so it was left hanging there... it's edited to complete my thought.

Dr CND & I were talking about this the other day... that reports were it was very close between TJ & Case... and I suggested that OB may end up choosing the guy who most fits what he's looking for as far as mental makeup. I think Case walked in the door that way. That's all.

If someone like Matt McGloin hits the streets we may see Case go. I'm not sure yet we're finished at QB, having first spot for waivers. We'll see.

The best news effect of Yate's release is O'Brien wants Savage to get his reps... now. Which is a good sign. Not that he'll start, but that he's not slipping back which isn't uncommon with rookies -- especially late rounders.

I only expect us to have 2 QBs on the final 53.

McNair didn't have crap to do with the decision to keep Keenum and release Yates, the man who made that decision was Bill O'Brien and it was strictly tied to football reasons and not to "sell jerseys and tickets". The paranoia and conspiracy theories that this fanbase develops gets ridiculous sometimes.

Last year at this time the super bowl talk started. By the second game of preseasson we already had ticket sales. Now we're 4-12 and drafting number 1 next year. We'll be losing to Ghana before the season starts.

Sounds like pretty good odds to me!!

The sky is not falling.....it's always that putrid yellow color in Houston!

I will never forget the insane 4th qtr drive he had @ cincy to secure our first PS ticket

beat ATL at home something I don't even think schaub could of done would of prob choked it

and beating cicny again get our first PLayoff win

anyway I hope Keenum is next only need 2 qb IMO we could really use that 3rd spot for something else like a OLB ILB or CB

hell even a Tackle at this point
