We also still don't have a lot of quality big guys for this defense.

No depth, either.

Tough to see Chris Martin go at OT for the #Texans. Ended up in a boot after day one.

From FCS, DB Marcus Williams trying to make Texans
Quote:
The Bison have won the last three Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) championships, while amassing a 43-2 record since the beginning of 2011, Williamsí sophomore season. Williams arrived at North Dakota State the year before and started as a freshman, eventually setting a school record with 21 career interceptions and an FCS record of seven interceptions returned for touchdowns. He had at least one pass defended in 41 career games. Heís a ballhawk.
...
ďThatís in the past,Ē he said. ďI enjoyed everything I did when I was in college and what North Dakota State brought for me to just become a great player but now Iím looking forward to just being a Texan and learning how to be a pro and learn from older guys from what they see and how they do things and just follow their lead.Ē
...
ďI like to attack the ball at its highest point,Ē Williams said. ďThatís how I play. Thatís how Iíve always played. Thatís how I learned. And thatís how you play corner: when the ballís in the air, you go get it and you make sure the receiver donít.Ē
...
No matter the competition, Williamsí numbers were impressive but theyíre also a thing of the past. Heís no longer a whale busting open the glass bowl of the FCS. Now, heís a guppy, swimming in the vast waters of the National Football League after being signed by the Texans as an undrafted free agent.
...
ďI feel like itís a great accomplishment for guys that donít get much attention as the D-1A schools but I mean, for me, Iím just trying to play ball,Ē Williams said last week during OTAs. ďJust come out here, compete at a high level and just keep learning. Iím young, Iím a rookie. Iím trying to learn from the older guys who have been here before but I think itís nice. Iím from a small school and they all respect that. Iím just looking forward to big things now.Ē
...
ďJust focus on what you have to do,Ē he said. ďDonít worry about whatís going on with everybody else or what everybody else is doing or how somebody else is practicing. Just worry about what you have to do and what you have to do to be a good teammate and what you have to do to make this team.Ē

I think Marcus best hope is to make the PS.
Also, I think he has a better shot at safety rather than as a CB.

Played as a DT. Not a bad pick up in my mind. He wasn't going to WOW you with his play, but he was a solid part of UNC's defense.

We may project him as a DE here though?

My guess based only on position depth.

Tim Jackson
School: North Carolina
Position: DT
Positive: Totaled 25 tackles in 12 starts as a senior. Started seven games at nose tackle the prior year and finished with 18 tackles. Adequately sized prospect with possibilities at a number of defensive line positions. Moves well laterally, quickly changes direction, and displays a short burst of speed. Plays with good pad level, keeps his hands active throughout the play, and was constantly double-teamed by opponents.
Negative: Does not make many plays on the ball and is more of a gap occupier. Lacks overall playing balance. Despite his measurables, plays more like a small-area defender.
Analysis: On paper Jackson looks as though he offers potential as 3-technique tackle or two gap end, but must quickly elevate his game to have any opportunity at the next level..
