Default Texans Season Predictions

Figured we could use a thread to hold season predictions from media outlets all nice and condensed in one thread. personally I have us going 16-0 and getting the Super Bowl as Tom Savage has a Brady-like introduction and begins a Savage Future for the rest of the league but everyone has their own opinions so here we go:

http://espn.go.com/espn/feature/stor...ore-every-team

Quote:
Ganguli's prediction

I have them at 8-8. A combination of the Texans being better, recovering key players who were injured for half of last season (Brian Cushing, Arian Foster), and the lighter schedule will help the Texans. I wouldn't vehemently disagree with anyone who varies up or down one game, as does Advanced Football Analytics with its nine-win projection. Unless the Texans get very unlucky, there were too many losses by a touchdown or less for a repeat of last year, or anything close
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...s-are-sky-high

Quote:
HOUSTON TEXANS

Ceiling: 8-8. Ryan Fitzpatrick must produce on at least a viable level for this team to sniff 8-8, unless, of course, Case Keenum takes the reins and proves he can get the ball down the field to Andre Johnson and DeAndre Hopkins. For this offense to have balance, Hopkins needs to put up 950 yards and score six to eight touchdowns, while Arian Foster has to play in more than 10 games and revert to the dominant form he showed a few years ago.

Floor: 2-14. No. 1 overall draft pick Jadeveon Clowney flops, Foster shows that his best days are clearly behind him, and we're all left wondering why rookie quarterback Tom Savage isn't running the ranch. J.J. Watt receives little to no help from the rest of the front seven, and the best player on offense -- Johnson -- chirps up on how he wants out. All that would spell an implosion and a repeat of last year's dismal record -- though I'm doubtful that would occur under new coach Bill O'Brien's watch.
Just can not fathom that "floor" and going 2-14 again. BOB doesn't seem like the type to accept that ever.

I don't think anyone would predict the Texans in the playoffs this year (except for some of us). I also don't think anyone with any sense would predict another 2-14 season either. I think most folks (including me) sort of expect a somewhat mediocre year with us ending up in the general vicinity of 8-8.

But as we all know, what we're discussing in December will not be what we are discussing now. Except for maybe the QB position. And even that could surprise us. Hopefully not a bad surprise.

Pete Prisco at CBSSports.com has us not winning a game until Week 13 vs the Titans.

LOL. Petey Prickman is a loser.

We're better than that. Maybe not a whole lot, but we are.

The Texans will go 10-6, and shock the NFL by making it to the AFC championship. Fitzpatrick's beard will win at least 3 games alone.

8-8

(From a Colts fan)

There will be 1 or 2 QBs available when you draft next year that could be the future answer.

Fitz is a great back up level QB. He should keep it going until the right QB comes along (Florida State QB????????)

I put the Texans as going back to the "normal" fighting it out with the Colts for the division crown in the next year (or following season)

In his first year as Head Coach of the Texans, Dom Capers took on an expansion team minus Tony Boseli and still managed to win 4 games (including an embarrassing win @ Pittsburgh).

In his first year as Head Coach of the Texans, Gary Kubiak took on a team that had been in the league a few years and tired of losing and somehow managed to win 6 games.

Bill O' Brien's squad should win at least 4 and most likely 6. Anything over that is cherries on top.

A rookie has never won the Super Bowl.

That said. I think we'll seek into the play offs at 9-7. The defense will win us a Super Bowl with Fitzpatrick. .. we'll lose if Savage is starting.

9-7 in a bad conference and a first round loss to the Bengals. Dalton's revenge.

I am curious on your thoughts on the improved defense. Personnel wise we've only really added Clowney and a big NT. I guess the scheme is much improved from previous years though? More disguised coverages and less man
