Yep, need to change body size at starter and depth levels at NT and numerous other positions. Basically a replacement for this guy...

Terrell McClain (6'2", 293lbs.) signed a three-year deal [with the Cowboys] worth $3.05 million. He received a $300,000 signing bonus and will receive base salaries of $750,000, $1 million and $1 million. The max value of McClain's deal is $3.8 million.

The Houston Texans chose not to give McClain the $1.4 million tender as a restricted free agent, making him an unrestricted free agent.

I remember several of us had this guy in our mock drafts 3 yrs. ago when we wanted a true NT. He's got optimum NT size and low mileage only having played in 12 games in his 3 yrs. in the league. I like the signing. Many players get better with their 2nd team more-so than their 1st since he now has some NFL experience and he'll be coming to a new city and coaching staff. I actually think he'll be our starter at NT and that we'll pickup a 5th or 6th round NT to rotate with Powe.

I like this pick up, especially with Crenell coaching him. Coming out of the SEC, he was felt to be one of the physically strongest players in the draft. He has shown himself to be able to handle double teams. We will likely want another big man in the middle, as most of these types do best with a rotation (such as with Poe in KC) to keep them strong and fresh. He's only 27 and, as has been mentioned before, he has very little mileage.

And as a little cherry and whipped cream on top of the cake, the only significant injury that he has sustained in either his college or NFL career has been a wrist injury that was operated on around 2009........without any apparent residual problems.

Do we have a $ figure for it yet?

Will reserve judgement till then.

At least we know have a DT on the depth chart. Was worried about starting Jamison at NT.

We cry every year about a fatty nose tackle and we get one and apparently he isn't to everyone's liking. Based on our movement and cap space did you expect a 10 mil a year guy for the middle. They will make this Powe work in the system. I will reserve judgement until I actually see games.

We now have two linemen on our roster who fit this system. I'm praying that we aren't looking at Powe as a starter, but I definitely think he could be a solid depth player.

Starter or not, there's finally a true NT on the roster now. I'm in mind that this is a step in right direction.

So if we are going to use this guy to play Romeo's stock 3-4
where does that leave JJ?

I've heard lots of "experts" say that JJ would be a hard fit
(at the numbers he has been getting the last two years)
in RC's base defense..

Now do we go after Clowney? Makes more sense to me at this point..

Three different positions.

An NT like this is going to be in the base defense and goal line defense but he's going to be off the field in passing situations. Besides that, this guy is probably just rotational.

If we go Clowney, expect Clowney to play OLB and maybe put his hand on the ground as a DE during passing situations. JJ will play DE or DT... whatever he wants, whenever he wants.

Danieal manning was on the radio earlier and he was talking about how he expects the defense to be and he used the word versatility. Said he thinks its going to be harder for offenses to know what we are running.

This defense should be fun to play with on madden. Probably see a bit of everything.

He continued to have related academic problems in attempts to enter college due to this problem along with an associated diagnosis of adhd. Then he found Dyslexia Haven in a school that can't even spell its own name correctly........Ole Miss.

Well that can't be too difficult. We all knew what Wade was running most of the time, especially in the redzone.
