10TV: Former Ohio State University Buckeye CB Bradley Roby Charged With OVI http://bit.ly/1jInJeJ
2 weeks... that DWI couldn't wait 2 weeks. Was likely 1st round selection.

Quote:
Roby's agent, Michael Perrett of SportsTrust Advisors, released the following statement to Eleven Warriors:

Quote:
This past weekend my client Bradley Roby was issued a citation in Columbus, Ohio for operating a vehicle while impaired (OVI). Bradley was sitting in his parked car in a parking lot when he was approached and questioned by an officer. He was fully cooperative and willingly submitted to field sobriety and breathalyzer tests. His BAC test registered a negligible .008 and after further testing at the police station, he was very quickly released on his own recognizance. There are no other charges, and we are confident that this matter will be resolved quickly and favorably for Bradley. However, as the matter is still pending, we cannot comment further at this time.

And that's why I want nothing to do with Roby. The guy is a damn idiot, plain and simple.

I would guess he dropped off many 1st and 2nd RD boards. And some boards altogether.

Not mine,

.008 is a BS moneymaker for states.

The equivalent of having 2 beers in 15-30 mins while sitting in a car. If Roby is there at 26/36 the Browns range, he would be my pick. he's as talented as any CB in this draft.

I agree. 0.008 is a joke. If you've ever had a couple beers with your buddies at a bar and you're forced to blow as you leave I'd be willing to bet you'd blow in that range more often than not. He was given a misdemeanor ticket and released to drive himself home. That is nothing.

Although our DLine is in shambles and it's obvious that's where we need to focus a lot of our efforts, if this guy slipped to 3.01 it would be very difficult for me to move past him as a Texans GM.

MLB hasn't been devalued that much. It has more to do with his play. He hasn't looked very good since his injury. Although he played better as the year went along.

The biggest rumor at the moment involves the Falcons at #6 trying to trade up to #1 to take Clowney.

I would definitely be highly interested if I were the Texans. I'm leery of Clowney. Actually, I'm leery of anyone at #1. I don't see any sure fire all-pro, so would rather trade down to 6, take Bortles (I think this is their target, just a hunch) and have another pick or two.

I haven't looked at all of the Falcons picks and where they lie, and don't have a super good feel for equal value of moving up 5 spots to the top - But if I were offered the swap in the first, plus their 2nd and 3rd this year, I would be all over it. I would also take their #2 this year and next as well if they wanted to keep the #3 this year.

Like I said not sure if that is fair value or not, but if offered I jump at either of these.

Atlanta has 1:6, 2:5 and 3:4

with the old trade chart that would equal 2380 points

Texans 1:1 valued at 3000

Maybe we can get next years 1st too

Albert Breer ‏@AlbertBreer
Quote:
5) Lots of folks going in with the thought process that Clowney and Mack are worth moving up for, because edge-rusher group isn't very deep.

4) Left tackles will help shape Top 20. If Robinson's there at 4, could affect CLE's strategy. Zach Martin could go 9th ... or in the 20s.

3) Could be action with clubs dealing up into the 20s for QBs. Underrated reason why: Year 5 option gives clubs more contractual control.

2) For now, looks like the "cliff" for the QBs is the Vikings at 8. If top QBs fall past there ... Look out. Titans are a wild card at 11.

1) The 4-man top-tier (Clowney, Mack, Robinson, Watkins) may keep HOU, STL, JAX, CLE from trading down to, say, 6, 9 or 10. All 4 = Elite.

Five overarching themes to watch as we get closer to the draft ...

I'm not leery of Clowney, or the QBs, or using the 1st pick. But, I think the Texans would be better served trading down and getting the extra picks. To make the deal with the Falcons, I would accept #6, #37, #103, and next year's 1st. Take the QB (I don't care which of the 3) at #6. Then a pass rusher + RT at #33 & #37 from a pool of Ford, Van Noy, Lawrence, Moses, Kouandjio, and Richardson. Not down with the 2nd (or 3rd) tier QBs at all.

The Browns have one of the best (if not the premier) LTs in the game. And where has that gotten them? Taking Robinson as a bookend to protect Brian Hoyer is asinine. Not saying the Browns aren't dysfunctional enough to do it. Just that it would be asinine.

Considered this exact trade scenario yesterday.

Only changes I would make would be Attouchou for Lawrence and would settle for a Garoppolo/Carr/Murray later if by some stroke of magic Mack fell to us at 6.

I'm very leery of all of those, if for no other reason than the extreme scrutiny and pressure that will be placed on the #1 overall.

Are you expecting the Falcons to think their 2015 #1 is going to be low? Otherwise, I don't see that scenario playing out. I would think their 2015 #2 would be the best we could hope for.

I also don't understand naming specific players when we have no clue who will actually be available at those spots. I'm anal like that, though. I hate hearing "an Andrew Luck". There's only one Andrew Luck. "A player with similar qualities as Andrew Luck" is how it should be phrased. Like I said, I'm anal about stuff like that.

Then I don't make that deal. It's entirely possible for Atlanta to return to the playoffs in 2014. Last year was an aberration, I think. So even their 1st rounder could be late. An extra late 2nd rounder a year removed does nothing for me. If they refuse, be prepared to take the pick.
