4.65 for Donald (unofficial 1st run)

If he is there in the 2nd, I would have absolutely no qualms with taking him. Great athleticism, great football player. Crennel can find a place for him.

Matt Barkley was projected as the 2nd best QB in the 2013 Draft and a top 10 pick. He chose not to throw and he dropped all the way to the 4 rnd because there was a suspicion that he was worried about residual from a mid Nov shoulder strain his last collegiate season. His shoulder actually checked out OK. but his draft status was still affected. Manziel had a shoulder injury last year. It could still leave questions about its status now that he has chosen not to throw. Besides, not throwing off-script as must be done at the Combine, can't help but leave additional questions, since he will present only exhaustively-practiced finely scripted plays with familiar receivers at his Pro Day. This will still leave a big question looming over his head..........can he take instruction and stay within the dictates of a structured offense.

USC QB Matt Barkley will not throw at the scouting combine

Clowney's 10 yard split of 1.56 equalled that of USC WR Marquise Lee.

Dee Ford held back by medical team. Had back surgery earlier in his career.

Nobody doubts his athleticism. It's his drive that has people concerned.

Plenty. Mayock trashing him again today, Sapp too.

3 cone drill most interesting for DL for me today. I don't expect him to do well in that drill.

4.47/4.48 with 1.56 10 yard splits on both.

Some have said his biggest mistake was staying in school and putting up a worse year as a Senior.

To contrast with Both Bridgewater and Manziel - Barkley had less yds, Less TD, Lower comp % AND more Int. (Only Manziel had more picks, but was net positive in all other stats)

I remember that well, that was a dramatic drop from expectations, every mock draft guy in the country was clueless, had egg on his face after that crash by Barkley to the 4th round.
So did Barkley not throw on his schools Pro Day either ?

OK, what non-lauditory word would y'all have chosen? I thought poorish was as mild a description as could be made.

Y'all know you didn't give birth to these players right?

Yea, I hear 'em.
But see Clowney isn't a player with issues, you know, a real talented guy like a Randy Moss who also had real serious off field problems. Clowney lacks motivation, needs a leader, a mentor, he's really a lot like Mario was IMO, but he's not a "bad kid".
But had Lovie Smith got the HC job here, I think there would have been an excellent chance we'd take Clowney, but not so much with O'Brien.
