Players Under Contract: 60
Pro Bowlers: 2
Unrestricted Free Agents: 9(5 with 50%+ playtime)

Free Agents to Re-sign
I think that it’s a given the Texans will do what they can to re-sign...

Free Agents to Let Walk
Kareem Jackson had a good season, but given some of the salaries that went into the position last year and lack of available talent he’ll be...

Contracts to Modify
This is the final year of...

Players to Consider Releasing

All of our division competitors have much more cap space than we do, so they likely will land more talent in FA than us,and therefor we'd better have a really successful Draft this year for the first time in 3 years.

Roster Reset: Winners and losers in free agency

"Winning" or "losing" free agency guarantees nothing. Tampa Bay, #1 winner. Dallas & Carolina -- playoff teams, losers.

While this is a better FA class, gotta find the right fits. I generally like what I see from Jags front office -- cannot say same for Colts and Titans. (Trent Richardson, anyone?)

Agreed and the Texans also need to hit on a couple of low priced FA's like Niles Paul/Virgil Green/Davon House to fill holes so that they can build on last season, in addition to the draft. I fell better about this with Gaine in charge of player/personnel

Disagree. Large cap space does not equal more talent in FA...just more spending in the FA market.

" That should prevent them from a total collapse if they canít find a QB that is as productive as Fitzpatrick"

I've just spewed everywhere on a train at the thought of that prospect.

Don't get me wrong, Fitz was a steady hand on the tiller especially in comparison to expectations, but this could be a loooooong wait for a decent QB if we don't pull a starter out of training camp that can at least match Fitz's production off the bat (with plenty of room to grow).

Matt Schaub's best years could seem like a woken dream compared to what the Texans have in store if they draft a Locker, Ponder, Sanchez. Hell they could even end up going after Sanchez if they don't find a quality starter. Pray that Mallett is our man

They have more space than we do because they don't have anyone worth paying.

Maybe not in every case, but you still can't buy it if you can't afford it.

YEP i mean look at the Eagles "dream team" a few seasons ago, spending big in FA means nothing if the rest of your team sucks.

I think the Jags & Titans spent more than we did last season in FA.

Expected outcome based on contract value. Links at the bottom of the article to explain the science, pretty in-depth analysis.

Tough to compare LT pay vs RT pay. Still think Newton's ceiling is $5m per.
