Funny thing is that most people are still missing it completely. This wasn't the kicker's fault. This was "Management's" fault for keeping this guy around to kick FG's when the game was on the line when he clearly showed that he couldn't be relied on.
Yep.

During the off season, in the middle of the summer, I said to a buddy of mine: "Kinda worried about our special teams." This friend was dismissive and didn't think it was a big deal.

Tonight, as I was leaving Reliant, and listening to another buddy of mine and all the other Texans fans crying about cutting Bullock, I said: "This goes higher than the kicker. We need to get rid of the special teams coach. The Texans have known that."

Look, I'm obviously happy that Kubiak will be ok. I send my thoughts to his family, and want him to recover.

But a part of management and being a high-level executive is about decision-making regarding personnel. Special teams has been a problem for a while, and has cost us games.

Ultimately, that's on Gary Kubiak and Rick Smith, not Randy Bullock.

Not if you put them in high pressure situations,

This may be the reason subconciously why I dont want Johnny Football to be the Texans, QB of the future, (JM didn't really want to be an Aggie to begin with, so there may be hope.)

Bullock was so upset by his three misses tonight that he went home and tried to hang himself. Fortunately, he couldn't kick the chair out from under himself.

I can't stand when kickers blow games. One of the most infuriating things that can happen in a football game.

This guy (Bullock) was hand picked by Joe Marciano. He's untouchable!

How has he stuck around for so long? This team's Achilles heel is inability to cut ties with the right people. Are we sure Fat Randy wasn't puffing the cheeba with Montgomery?
Why get ridda him now , you might get some moron who actually makes a few costing you draft position.

In total agreement. I saw this thread and was thinking "It's Bullock's fault he's got a job in the NFL?"

These are valid points. If we didn't have Kris Brown sucking horribly in 2005 we might have lost our chance at #1 overall. I say stick with the fat aggie, at least it'll be entertaining and give the fans a chance to catch some footballs in the stands. We need all the losses we can get this year going forward to get the changes we need to compete next year.

Yep, yep.

Even if we don't need a QB, we could use some other things that high picks in the first few rounds would likely take care of.

At this point ol' Randy can just kick us to 2-14 AFAIC.
