Saw this article this morning and thought that some of you guys might be interested in reading it.
I was an Eddie George fan years ago and would like to see him play another season if that's what he wants to do. If noone wants him then I'd like to see him/Titans do the same one day deal that Tim Brown did so he can retire an Oiler/Titan. http://tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/...99/1106/SPORTS

I'd like to see Eddie play another season, I was always one of his biggest fans. I think he could have some value on 3rd and short, and he has always been solid in pass protection.

Eddie hasn't been able to hit open holes for a few years now. He should retire.

George is a class act but he doesn't have it anymore, it was hard to watch him run last season.

He ran last season? So that's what he was trying to do.... It all makes sense now. He should retire, no doubt about it.

No one knew what the hell was going on when he retired. After the season he left he country and the entire media was talking to his dumb hick father. Barry was no where to be found. The Lions didn't have any indication at the time he was going to retire. He wasn't talking to anyone. When he did come back out in public, he annouced he was done with football in Late July. That was it. The Redskins wanted to make a trade, they had a bunch of #1 picks to trade with. Sanders knew about it, and didn't want to be traded. He was done playing. He didn't want to play for ANYONE

Man I really do miss Barry, he was truly one of a kind. He did things on the field I never saw anyone do before and haven't seen since. I guess one good thing to come out of Barry's early retirement is you never saw him break down, he dominated from his first game until his last game. Its kinda sad to see the game's greats break down. I hope Rice retires cause I can't stand to see him play anymore, its so sad, just bouncing from team to team. I almost threw up when I saw Emmit Smith put on a cardnals jersey
Eddie just needs to retire and keep whats left of his dignity.

Remember Robert Smith of the Vikes? When he retired he said he'd rather walk away now than limp away later. He was a pretty good RB himself. Anybody remember that??

I'll say one thing for Eddie, he sure was durable. Unfortunately, that's about the only thing I can say about him.

Eddie should take up boxing, who knows.
But then I always remember the story about Jim Brown wanting to box, and Ali convincing him not to. By slapping him in the face 3 times before he could even react.

He had a rough beginning. Eddie stumbled out the gate in his freshman year at OSU. He took a while to develop and learn, but once he did, it was exciting to watch as he broke rushing records and he didn't know when to stop.
He will always be a Buckeye fan favorite! But I believe it is time for him to hang it up in the NFL too. |
