Derek Carr!

That's not even funny!

There are just better QB's in this draft. IMHO

On a side note what's your opinion of Jacob Coker in the spring game?
Coker is a better runner than passer right now. I really haven't seen enough to form any kind of opinion on him. He'll probably transfer considering Winston is playing like a complete baller.

is it out of this world if we draft a QB in the 1st then say during training camp that the number 1 pick plus yates and keenum are all involved in a position battle and whoever comes out on top is the starting QB

I don't know how one could look at this QB class and not like a couple of them.

The QBS I'd take .

Teddy Bridgewater QB 1 Louisville Jr 6-3 205 1

5 Marcus Mariota QB 2 Oregon rSo 6-4 212 1

6 Brett Hundley QB 3 UCLA rSo 6-3 222 1

9 Tajh Boyd QB 4 Clemson rSr 6-1 225 1

11 Johnny Manziel QB 5 Texas A&M rSo 5-11 210 1

66 Aaron Murray QB 8 Georgia rSr 6-1 208 2-3

74 Stephen Morris QB 9 Miami (Fla.) Sr 6-2 218 2-3

IMO ... with all the rule changes for concusions and such , air travel is the way to go . It would help to have a guy that can get 6yds with a run on a 3rd and 5 . Kubiak's offense is a dinosaur .

If Hogan comes out, he will be my #1 QB.

Smart, athletic, strong arm and moves well.

I would love to see this be the future of org. Oliver Luck/Shaw/Hogan

I don't like Mariota or Morris ....

Mariota's completion percentage (56.7%) leaves a lot to be desired - A full 10points lower than any of the others listed.

Morris .... I cant nail it down but something about him bothers me. I'd rather have McCarron than him , and he's way down my list.

As for the offense being a dinosaur , no its not. Its the fact that the QB is absolutely no threat to run that makes it appear so. Put a guy who is at least a threat to move the sticks with his legs on those bootlegs and it changes the dynamics of the entire offense and how teams are forced to defend it.

Bridgewater would be the obvious top choice for me .... But I'd be happy / satisfied with Boyd or Manziel as the #1 spot is probably just too expensive to acquire.

I've watched Murray the most and think if he was 3 inches taller he'd be right there with Teddy .

I like Murray a lot .... dude isn't flashy but he wins football games. That game against Clemson in the opening week of the season was one hell of a game for both he & Boyd.

There is a wealth of talent at the position in this draft , I just hope they get it right and the position is settled for the next decade.

Hell even the guy's I don't like have a whole lot of upside. (especially compared to a noodle armed statue)

I really, really like Hogan as well. However, I'm 99% positive that he's not coming out this year.

At the moment I have a slightly different take than you as I have watched Keenum for several college years and compare him favorably to all 2014 QBs. Add in that he will have two years NFL seasoning and hopefully some actual game experience to evaluate, I at this moment rate him + a #1 pick at another position over selecting a QB. In my perfect world of optimism, I trade MS + Tate for Browns WR Josh Gordon (despite team saying not up for trade) and their own third round. That leaves them two firsts, a second and another third from Steelers. Just to clarify, Gordon at Baylor had issues with marijuana but the 2013 suspension for first two games was due to taking cough syrup with codeine in it for a strep throat in February. Link:
http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/93...pended-2-games

A change of scenary for MS could revive his career and Tate is a tantalizing morsel for a RB starved Cleveland team.
