Post Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, late round steal?

I came across an article on this kid in the Ottawa paper the other day. This kid skipped the CFL combine to work out for 9 NFL teams. I'm no draft expert, but some teams have heard of him & wanted to take a closer look. The Texans weren't there; but with 11 picks this year, wouldn't hurt to at least look at some film on this kid.

Oh jeebus, I just saw they released the compensatory picks a few days ago. I'm an idiot. Disregard.

Who is the drafts biggest riser? 6'5" Canadian Medical Student Laurent Duvernay-Tardif. NFL Teams buzzing. Good chance he goes top 100

Kid tested out crazy athletic at his pro-day. He needs to put on some weight though. He's under 300 right now. Good news is he looks like his frame can handle it.

Quote:
* bench-pressed 34 reps of 225 pounds. Only six of 50 offensive linemen benched more at the NFL scouting combine last month in Indianapolis;
* twice had a vertical leap of 31.5 inches. Only two O-linemen at the combine leaped higher;
* was mad he ran the three-cone ‘L’ drill in 7.3 seconds, even though no O-lineman at the combine ran it in under 7.3;
* ran the 40-yard dash, depending on whose stop watch you gauged, in anywhere from 4.94 and 5.08 seconds. Only five OLs at the combine posted sub-5.0 official times in the 40;
* leaped nine and a half feet in the broad jump -- his personal best by five inches. Only Michigan’s Taylor Lewan -- a likely Top 15 overall pick -- jumped farther at the combine;
* ran the short shuttle in 4.59 seconds. Only 10 OLs did it faster at the combine.

I would absolutely take a flier on this kid. Some quality time in a weight room and practicing technique and the sky is the limit.
