Im surprised we didnt sign greg oden.
Can Greg Oden play football and is willing to sign a non guaranteed contract (unlike what they have in the NBA)?.. If he can and is, sign him up?

I can already tell it is going to be an absolute joy to read all of your posts. Try to keep your optimism reigned in though.

Nice all around signing, he's averaging 9.16M per year based on the contract numbers reported. 9 this year is high, but 9 in 2016-2018 will be low granted that the NFL keeps increasing revenue at %20.

In alternate reality universe maybe. Here it was after the 1st game.

Schaub threw for 266 yards and one touchdown during Houston's win in the type of quietly effective performance for which he has become known. And then Schaub celebrated the win in the best way possible -- with a pile of cash.

Not trying to take this thread off topic, but you know Watt personally?

Crazy as it may sound, Im somewhat indifferent. On the one hand its cool we have Cush locked up, but then the looking at it strictly as a football/business move Im not so sure I like the trend of just handing out a bunch of money after injury. Could it be a "sorry you got hurt for us, here's some money" situation? Sometimes I just wonder why the team doesn't employ the franchise tag more often, and show a little patience when a player comes back from major surgery.

Im hoping Cush shuts me up and dominates, but the weird voice in my head is asking me "what if he gets hurt again, or never fully recovers"?

Oh well, Dance with who brung ya!

Cowboys signed MLB Sean Lee to a six-year, $42 million extension through 2019.The deal includes $16.1 million guaranteed with a max value of $51 million via incentives. Lee was entering the final year of his rookie deal. Lee flashed All-Pro ability early last season, but missed the final 10 games with a toe injury. He has a lengthy injury history going back to 2008, where Lee tore his ACL at Penn State. He's already missed 13 games through three NFL seasons. It's a high-risk, high-reward gamble for Dallas. Letting Lee play out 2013 before extending or franchise tagging him probably would've been the most prudent course of action. Nevertheless, by owner Jerry Jones' standards, it's not an overpay. It would seem that Dallas ILB Sean Lee is a very comparable player to Cushing with comparable circumstances as he too is coming off of an IR in 2012, and the terms of his new 6-year deal aren't that much different than Cushings..

What, exactly, is your definition of "the whole year"?

Great signing for the team. Come on MNF!!!!!

Yeah, that's why there's a dollar difference.

I think he's talking about signing an injured player to a long term deal after missing a substantial part of the previous year.

I don't remember Brian getting whacked all that hard he just got caught out of position. You know he rehabbed like no other, suffered absolutely no other wear & tear he should be fresh, ready to go.

Tremendous extension congrats & best wishes coming back to the team this season

Yeah and what I'll always remember is he still walked off the field. Even when he gets hurt he is still a BAMF. Chuck Norris checks under his bed for Cushing.

Watt can be franchise tagged twice before the salary gets out of hand. If they take care of the cap, and other players they need, the threat of a franchise tag should help get a reasonable mega deal done.
