Vikings | Tice Issues Apology for Scalping Tickets
Thu, 30 Jun 2005 10:01:06 -0700

Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Tice issued a statement regarding his $100,000 fine issued by the NFL for violating the league's rule against reselling Super Bowl tickets for more than their face value. "I respect Commissioner Tagliabue's decision," said Tice. "I used poor judgment and it will not happen again. I apologize to my family, Commissioner Tagliabue, the NFL, the entire Vikings organization and the fans. I consider this matter closed and remain focused on the upcoming 2005 season, which should be an exciting year for Vikings fans everywhere."

Vikings | Tice Fined $100K for Scalping Super Bowl Tickets
Thu, 30 Jun 2005 10:00:49 -0700

The Associated Press reports Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Tice was fined $100,000 Thursday, June 30, by the NFL for violating the league's rule against reselling Super Bowl tickets for more than their face value. Vikings running backs coach Dean Dalton and special teams coach Rusty Tillman were also fined $10,000 each for doing the same. Tice said resold some of his personal allotment of 12 Super Bowl tickets last season and had also resold his tickets as a Vikings assistant coach from 1996-2001.
