I think what Kubiak will do on third and long has a lot to do with:

1. The continuity on the line and whether they are trustable.

2. How much they get into 3rd and extra long.

3. How the defense is playing. If the defense is wrecking shop, well then, sometimes the strategic way to get down field is punt the ball and destroy them.

Not what you want to do against good QBs, but often you saw Kubiak being more aggressive against better QBs. Denver game comes to mind with play calling.
You and every other coach in the league. That's as generic as it comes. Kubiak has that plan in his NFL 101 library for rookies.

Kubiak plays it close to the breast when games are on the line or out of control. When the outcome is uncertain, he has pulled some surprises.

For offense it's been awhile since a rookie has come in and started from week 1. Duane Brown was doing his timeshare with Ephraim Salaam, Foster was a knuckle head his rookie year, and you have to go back to Owen Daniels and Eric Winston starting as rookies week 1 for offensive guys.

I think if we see Hopkins starting week 1, then he's absolutely earned it and was not just handed the job because he was drafted in the first round (Mind you, late as hell in the first round).

Now we enter the deadest part of the year for NFL junkies.

This is what I think about the next 6 weeks.

Agreed......although, my vacation begins in 30 minutes. That'll save me a week of waiting
