That's generous. Too generous IMO. Me ? I'm keeping a lid on it and thinking expect the playoffs in '09, hope for them this year. We really need to do far more than "tweak" our defense. We may need to overhaul it ?

Maybe they're too embarrassed to see their logos out there, with all those losing seasons? They need to pull an Appalachian State and beat UT, that should get them to sell stuff.

It would be cool if they could send players and coaches on a ticket minivan during the off season. They did the first year but haven't since.

Right now in Corpus it's the Spurs in basketball, Cowboys in football, and Astros(other than the Hooks) in baseball that get the most attention here.
They NEED to be advertising out here. I'm getting sick of constant Dallas Cowboys updates on TV, and having to see a ton of Cowboys merchandise and leave little room for other teams.

A solid drubbing of the Gurls would help in that department (Texans exposure in CC and other places)... Alas, our linemen (both sides of the ball) got the snot kicked out of them and therefore, the Gurls have scoreboard.... It really is that simple when it comes to converting fans..... Win, and they're in. Lose and they're gone...

That is what I've been telling people TB. And it isn't just the Cowboys. As a Cowboy fan I just think if the Texans put together one playoff run then they will see the exposure go up greatly. Winning cures many things and things will start to quickly run if the Texans just win and make the "expansion" tag history.

It would help too to market outside the Houston area...maybe a training camp somewhere else in the state...player appearances at other cities (although I'm sure they've done that). ANYTHING outside the Houston metropolitan area to spread news about the team.

Marketing!

Do you watch Fox Channel 38(on Direct TV) KUQI? They have Houston's newscast(myfoxhouston) at 9:00pm and Mark Berman with sports in the last half hour M-F. They cover the Texans(Houston teams) not the Cowboys so that's a start in the right direction. Winning helps but spending advertising dollars here would help tremendously. I also think they should take a week of training camp, spend it here and get people excited about an NFL team in the city like Dallas uses San Antonio occasionally.
