The really good news is despite all the complaints, almost all of the folks think that we will have at least an 8-8 season.

Many even think that we can get to the play-off with this "sucky" defense! LOL LOL!

We will have to outscore teams to do it and it has been done before.

We had 43 TDs last year, the same number as we allowed.
We had 3 fewer FGs than our opponents.

Yet our record was 8-8.

If we only have one more FG in the Tacks game, we'd been 9-7

And still being out-scored overall by two FGs!

Considering that we got blown out of a couple of games, that's pretty good.

And that 9 of our games were against play-offs teams.

Slaton and Taylor can be our running game. The zone blocking may be beginning to show dividends

We are a pass-first team. We came out passing against Dallas just like we came out passing against New Orleans.

Once Schaub found his rhythm, we moved the ball at will against one of the better defenses in the league. So if Schaub is on, we can move the ball against anybody.

Turnover ratio +3. [caution: we ended the 07 preseason with a +5 T/O ratio]

Our special teams are pretty damned good. Kris Brown is money in the bank. Turk is a good punter who puts lots of air under the ball which makes for good coverage. A.D. makes something good happen on almost every K.O. and so does J.J. when he's not fumbling. Some of you want him gone, but I say "not yet". Anderson isn't nearly the breakaway threat that J.J. is and I'd rather save Slaton's legs for the running game.

Wow! What a difference a couple of years make. Just a few years ago Brown was so low he could crawl under a snakes belly, and now he's "money in the bank!" I love it! Especially since I just drafted him in my fantasy league. Keep up the good work Kris! I'm counting on you!

The thing that we did extremely well was get turnovers. It just goes to show in this league if you don’t turn it over and you do get some turnovers, you’ve got a chance to win every game. The way they moved the ball on us, the turnovers kept us in the football game and gave us a chance to win. So, that’s the biggest positive

If the Texans limit their own turnovers and force the other team to turn it over then they'll be in the playoffs.

Don't forget that execution is of utmost importance.

Well, they didn't execute. That and Fangio was even worse than Richard Smith. I don't know, actually. It's close, but at least they're different.

he really did look terrible. very much in a class by himself out there. Kubiak says he's inconsistent but i didn't see that. he seemed consistently bad. he may have single handedly cost us that pretend game. the pressure that Schaub was having to deal with was silly. i don't understand how he makes the roster but for some reason he's destined to do so.
