Clearly there are factors which can affect the stats like low or very high attempts, receivers and their efforts to get to balls, etc. Still, Schaub has so far been living with very good neighbors and the assertions of Sage's superior accuracy appear erroneous.

If we can get a consistent running game and pass protection, our offense could be really dangerous.

This was the most surprising aspect of Schaub's 2007 season to me. The knock on him at Virginia was that he was not a deep-ball guy (one local rag called him "The Duke of Dink"). Of course, he had no reliable deep threats during his time at UVA, so the Hoos had no choice but to go with the short-passing game that leaned heavily on RBs and TEs.

And I echo everyone else's sentiment--this season can't start soon enough.

Arm strength was a knock on Tom Brady entering the league. But, he got better. So much better that he's almost as good as Matt Schaub on completions on passes thrown 21+ yards.

So basically, for guys who have over 1000 yards passing, Schaub was #1.

And he does this with a random assortment of gimps and fatguys and youngsters as the running backs.

The thing that most impressed me about Schaub was his playaction fake. He hit AJ for tds in 3 of the 4 games they played with eachother off playaction fakes and this was with a running game that didn't scare anybody.

I agree and imagine what it'll be like with an actual running game.

Also, I remember reading post-game comments about Schaub actually making reads at the LOS creating at least a couple of those long balls. IIRC, one was against the chiefs and the other might've been against the saints.

Anywho, a QB actually making reads at the LOS is a sight for sore eyes.
