To Coach Gibbs and Coach Rhodes

I know you fellas have alot better things to do than read message boards. But I am guessing someone you know stops/will stop by here and if so, I hope this thread gets back to y'all.


I just wanna say "Thanks!" Thank you for signing on to our Texans. We appreciate y'all coming on to lend a hand and to share your wisdom. And I know we will be better because of you.

I wish training camp wasn't so far away.

We will be much better and I hope that Hoke does take the Michigan Defensive Coordinator Job so that Rhodes will have full reign over the secondary.

Your fingerpointing skills need serious work if you blame Hoke at all for why the secondary is weak.

We need to draft secondary talent, not give up on talented coaching.

Is the signing of Rhodes even official, yet?

Either way, I want to thank both for considering signing with us. Both could have very easily gone to a team with higher playoff hopes, but they decided to sign with us to make us even better. I believe even if the season started today, we can very easily be 100x better just because they are coaching us.

I think Hoke has done well with what he has been given also. The Texans lost two starting safeties before the season started this year and he was given P-Burnt and Matt Stevens as starters in the past. I would rather Hoke and Rhodes be able to mess together and be able to bounce things off each other to find the right players for the right situations and train them to be better and tougher than they ever thought they could be.

i believe they see somthing that alot of texans fans do not which is that we are a team with higher playoff hopes, due to our history fans are more pesamistic but we are chalk full of talent, young talent at that....

Hoke has specifically denied wanting the Michigan job saying he was happy with the NFL and the Texans.

Rhodes hasn't officially been hired, but generally McClain doesn't say a hiring is going to happen unless it happens. McClain sometimes gets the particular position stuff wrong though.

I'm am guessing they are still working stuff out. Figuring out what the specific role and title is going to be. The Texans don't announce things until the entirety of the contract is worked out.

I still have a hard time thinking that the Texans would be bringing Rhodes in at just the "assistant defensive backs coach" title. Generally, they tend not to bring in experienced guys in that way.
