I was there last night too. It was definitely too close to tell at first. Kubiak had to throw the challenge flag. The whole stadium wanted him to do it.

The only downside to last night was watching Gary Kubiak throw another pointless red flag on to the field and cost us one more time out. What is that now, eight or nine of them?

Seriously, I'd kind of dropped it since it was a great win but somebody needs to just take that red flag away from Gary. He needs to just pretend that it's 1978 and there's no such thing as a coaches challenge.

From where I was sitting, it was an obvious TD and a waste of a timeout.

BUT.

According to what some people are saying, it sounds like it looked like there might be a question based on the view of the Jumbotron. If that's the case, then we need to get better Jumbotron operators.

the point of the whole post is that although they didnt show it at the game in time, it was shown on tv in plenty of time. someone should be watching the game an advising kubes. if there is not someone they should get someone and if they have someone they need to look at replacing him.

I think he knew it was a TD, as did the guy upstairs. It could very well have been a strategic move, to further motivate the crowd and get them even more involved than they already were. We all knew it would stand, but my gosh did that crowd go ape**** when he through that red flag out there.

Now as far as the RULE ITSELF is concerned, I think it needs to be reconsidered by the rules committee in the offseason. It's a horrible rule. I think the play should have to be completed (player has to be down or forward progress stopped), or at least the famous "football move" should have to be completed, before a TD should count.

Now there is some positive spin! Well done.

========================

I think on challenges Kubiak should emulate George Costanza on "opposite day". It might work out better.
