I love the Super Mario music when Mario gets a sack, great idea.

Watching Mario last night, he's not as quick as a Peppers or a Freeney, but he's not too far behind and he plays with much more power than either of them. If he can keep building on his game he has the physical skills to be a hell of a DE against the run and the pass for a very long time.

LOL. I agree. I'm really happy to see Mario finally starting to show what he can do. But now that he's shown us, let's see what he does to Indy next week. If he can sack Manning a couple of times, then onward to the Mario alter.

I think it's really unfair of all of us to be judging the "Big Three" from last year so soon. All three of them need a few more years before we start labeling them. Even so, I'm guilty as hell of that anyway.

My hatred of ESPiN grows by the day. How they could possibly label Mario a "draft bust" when the dude hasn't even played two seasons is beyond me. (I feel the same about VY and Bush, even though I've never been fans if either player. It's just too soon to label them anything at this point.)

I'm so glad that Marrio is stuffing a sock into the talking heads' pie-holes. It is evident that most of these guys lack any ability to evaluate players and project solid predictions of the future. They are nothing but a pack of bleating sheep that just react to the obvious.

The second half of this season, Mario has been on a tear, and is playing like a guy drafted #1 overall. It's funny that when your high draft picks make impact plays, you win games. We need more of this from Mario.

3 1/2 sacks was very impressive, but even more impressive to me was that he was in the backfield all night long harrasing Cutler. He was a second or two away from having 10 sacks in one game. Cutler did a good job avoiding him, but not every time and Mario got his share. And this guy isn't a one trick pony either like a Freeny. He plays the run outstandingly. Teams are just going to learn to run away from him because he is too strong to be bullied around. What did he have 7 tackles? If he keeps developing his game, and is driven to be the greatest, the sky is the limit for this guy. It's how bad does he want it, because he has a very rare combo of size, speed and strength.

I think they meant on PTI that people need to put the judgements away. Mario has dominated the past 5 weeks, but wasn't anywhere above average for the rest of his short career. They could label him the next football Jesus, and he could go back to 2006 form, like VY dropped back this year.

I think what's important about that stretch of play is that Mario has proven that he can consistently dominate. Before this, it was all speculation. He made some nice plays, played very well in multiple games, but hadn't really given us a solid foundation to reference in our beliefs that he could be a dominant player. You can point to these last 5 games and confidently say that Mario not only has the ability, but he has in fact played at a Pro-Bowl level against NFL talent, consistently. Obviously one season does not a career make, but Mario is going to play a large factor in getting and keeping Houston fans excited about watching this team.

Consistency is a young players enemy. I'll say it once and I say it again. None of them have proved to be consistent, Mario is proving that Bush and VY has yet to prove it...but you have seen flashes from both of them.

Not saying Mario should be given a pass, no he still has a lot of work to do. I'm just saying that young players fail to be consistent. Mario would have a good game...then disappear the next 2, then have a good one...then disappear...but now 5 weeks he has shown up.

Just like VY has yet to put together a string of games that are well played and Bush also(in the rushing yards department) I think eventually they will. But guys that win ROY are usually just the most consistent.

Also Mario is fun to watch. Last night I sat there and saw 3rd and 9 and I was excited. I am VERY VERY happy we have him on our team.
