Holy cow. He should probably pay them back now, lol.

I wonder how many inches he grew while working there.

When Reggie Bush approaches Domanick Davis' production this conversation will be ripe. Until then the answer is obvious.

I agree with most of what you said. I will say that the sack and the almost sack which was a grounding call (I think), he was on the leftside going against Stinchcomb. IMO, he's no slouch at RT.

Good call, i was afraid everyone was going to say " oh, well he went against a back up LT..." He just flat out owned the saints o-line on both sides. 1 play that i was sure was going to get overlooked in light of his sack FF, was how he blew up a middle screen pass to RB some time in the 2nd half.

He starts to rush the passer, but then recognizes its a screen pass. He then backed up to chip RB coming out of the backfield which in turn made brees hold the ball just long enough to allow one of our other D-linemen to get there & pressure brees to throw it in the dirt.

Kalu & all the other guys said he'd get it eventually, & i think the above mentioned play shows that it's finally starting to click.

Once again. That argument is fine if we are going to judge all of them solely on their performance to date. Bush was 21 and only 6'0 200lbs when he came into the league. DD was 2 years older and a much more solid 5'9 220. Bush needs to grow into his body much like Westbrook did. I'm not saying he's played great just that we can't talk about waiting till year 3 to judge one player unless we do the same for the other. I think that all 3 of these players are young and in the case of Mario and Bush especially, not done growing into their bodies. I could see Bush safely adding 10-15 pounds to his frame without losing much agility. At 210-215 he's a much tougher load to bring down than he is right now. And I really don't know why we have such a hard time with this. I wanted Mario from before the draft.

that's the earliest thread I could find on HPF. But I was calling for him well before we drafted him. Its still a bit premature to SERIOUSLY call any of them a bust. Now if I'm around a Saints/Titans fan (ok I don't even associate with Titans fans but hypotheticall speaking) yeah both of them were busts. This is just between you guys and me (this post will appear invisible to non Texans fans.

Well that's all we have to judge them on at this point.

Not sure why 2 years is significant--DD wasn't the starter and wasn't even splitting as much as Bush plus was coming into the league to be a return specialist/third down back. As for Bush getting to 215-220 lbs, once again let's talk about it if it ever happens. People have been trying to put weight on him for years and it hasn't stuck. Notice youngster Mario has actually dropped weight in the NFL.

I haven't called any of the three a bust. Just pointing out that to date you can't really justify a debate about Bush until his production can beat out DD's--that certainly isn't setting the bar too high for a #1 pick or the RB of a lifetime.

I think Mario has grown a great deal in the past year. I like that he is playing standing up more, as it looks that it helps him get off the line quicker. Vince had a decent game yesterday, but needs better accuracy. Reggie, needs to change his running mentality and not go out of bounds.
