I agree with all the comments about the Texans not standing up for their QB. These guys seem too freaking nice (or maybe they just don't think very highly of Matt).

Separately from the obvious need to upgrade talent, the Texans need to get meaner. Basically, find some goons that can play. Like Kyle Turley in his going-ballistic heyday. Turley's infamous meltdown in New Orleans came when a Jet defender was trying to peel his QB's head off. That guy will stand for his guys.

In contrast, our guys use the classic nice-guy avoidance techniques: either (1) claiming to be above such shenanigans [Winston's quote] or (2) talking tough about protecting their own but then professing ignorance about seeing anything [Kalu]. In the meantime, our QB keeps landing in the damned hospital.

As for the question in this thread, I would seriously question Kubes' judgment if he plays Matt against the Raiders. The playoffs are probably beyond us, but let's get ready to win some games after the bye to restore some good feelings going into the offseason.

I'm trying to decide if this was good or bad.

Let's get Albert Haynesworth.
