Well, obviously, we've dropped a bit. Losing to the Falcons hurt.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/powerr...on=2007&week=5 ESPN has us at 17, which is fine except that we're behind the Panthers? How do they figure that? http://www.coldhardfootballfacts.com..._Rankings.html Cold, Hard Facts still has us at 12, which is surprising and probably a little high at this point. http://www.coldhardfootballfacts.com...lay_Index.html We're still 7th in their Big Play Index. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/teameff.php We're 13th in Team Efficiency, but that's primarily because the strength of our Special Teams.

Hard facts must be closet Farve fans. McKinney is out and Flannagan is in. It doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to figure where this is heading.

Always fun to read and I often do, but at this stage the power rankings are meaningless to us, we know how good our team is, who cares about the media. |

Cold Hard Facts has updated:
http://www.coldhardfootballfacts.com...Hog_Index.html 13th on the Offensive Hog index. Our problem is our yards per attempt. We're ranked 8th in Negative Pass Play percentage and 8th in 3rd down percentage. But we're ranked 27th in yards per attempt on rushing plays. http://www.coldhardfootballfacts.com...Hog_Index.html We're 18th on the Defensive Hog index. Our YPA here is good, we're ranked 3rd. But we're 21st in Negative Pass Play percentage and 26th in 3rd down percentage. We've got to force more bad passes and we've got to get people off the field on 3rd down. Duh. http://www.coldhardfootballfacts.com...ssing_YPA.html We RULE in YPA. We're ranked 6th. That rawks. http://www.coldhardfootballfacts.com...er_Rating.html 23rd. We're making bad QB's look good. We've got to improve our passing defense. I'm not going to jump on Petey for this. Smith has to come up with schemes that work. Our defense is supposed to be a strength and after the first quarter of the season, it isn't.

In our current state, bereft of our main weapons, I'll agree totally. We're middle of the pack - probably in the 18-22 area. But with all our weapons, I think we are 12-15. Our secondary keeps us out of the top ten.

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/powerRankings
Fox has us at number 13, down two spots from number 11. "With Ahman Green, Andre Johnson, and Jacoby Jones out, the Texans offense wasn't supposed to have any life on Sunday. Even without his go-to playmakers, though, quarterback Matt Schaub continued to put up big numbers, going 28-for-40 for 317 yards, including a beautiful 35-yard touchdown pass to Andre Davis in the first quarter. Alas, it wasn't enough, as Schaub's former team came out on top in Atlanta. The Texans had their chances, only to squander them in the final minutes of the game. The Texans are now 2-2, with the winless Dolphins coming to town next week."
