When the weather's good, it's nice to have the roof open. Especially at night. The only time I remember the roof opened at night was against the Chiefs in '05. The game was sorry, but it was cool to be out under the stars.

I understand that but what I don't get is those people who say that it gives teams advantages.

It is much louder inside the stadium when the roof is closed (or so it seems to me). That could be considered and advantage because when we scream and yell when the other team is on a 3rd down, they have a hard time hearing the calls. Fans have been known to cause a false start or other penalty just through noise alone!

As far as the Texans/Steelers "they are wearing black and aren't used to the heat so let's keep the roof open" theory a few years ago, I think we all learned that was a bunch of baloney!

A closed roof keeps fans in their seats, rather than roaming around trying to stay cool. That is a definite advantage. I like a LOUD stadium rather than a HOT one!! JMO!!

After the Raider's game a few years back, I am in total support of the 80/50 policy.

There was a game last year that was pretty hot inside the stadium but it was very pleasent outside. Can't remember which game it was though.

The 50/80 rule sounds good to me. After suffering through the open roof on that game against the Steelers, when it was 120 degrees on the field, having the roof open only when the temps are 50 to 80 (including those two nimbers) makes perfect sense.
