These in Katy are as close or closer as Hwy 6. There is riff raff everywhere but more so the closer to town you get. I hear about it all the time from my buddy at HPD. I hope this helps some.

AVOID I-10!!!!! Worst than a nightmare with all the construction!!

I'm going to TRY to trade and get the day off David, but, since it took me over 2 hrs to get from Pasadena to Katy Friday night, I might need to get a room on that side of town. Don't want two hours of road rage to ruin my day!!

You could take 59 to beltway and then take Westheimer to fry road, i am not sure what construction is over on 59 (since I live in Austin) But I know this would help you avoid I-10.

My Mom lives in Deer Park. She takes Bltwy 8 to the Westpark Toll Road out here. Of course being on her son's corporate EZ Tag acct helps, too.

That's where I ran into trouble Friday night. I don't have an EZ tag so couldn't take Westpark Toll Road. They had the Beltway intrance to I-10 shut down, both ways. HORRIBlE traffic, the signs posted told you NOTHING, so we circled around for almost an hour before we found an intrance to I-10 west. Most of the headache was dealing with the horrendous traffic on a Friday night. You can bet your season tickets this old gal will have an EZ tag before long!!!

Exit Westheimer off of the Beltway and take Westheimer to Highway 6 (or any other road between the Beltway and Highway 6), cut north to "I Hate 10" from there...

Thanks for the offer - but I can't accept. I've been keeping my out of pocket expense to a minimum and I was able to get the DJ services for gratis..... So just put the $$ toward more beer/food/jello shots......

David! Sounds like you have done a lot of work to make this a GO!! I am SOOOOO terribly sorry I will have to miss! Can't find anyone to work for me that weekend since it is Mother's Day weekend.
