The general thought in drafting players is, the higher the round, the better the prospect and player. What about the Texans thoughts? This season we drafted Symons, coming back from injuries, Earl, injuries, and Lord, a complete project. In the case of injuries, most physicians believe that an ACL comes back twice as strong after the first tear, so it's an advantage! (I'm not telling everyone to go twist their knees on bad turf) Some experts beleive you can take an athlete and place him anywhere on the field. But in a line of work such as the NFL, do we have the time to wait for developments of players. This is a team that was destroyed by injury last season, and did not have enough skill players to add depth. Now we add guys like Lord. I think their had to be someone else available besides this guy. But hopefully, all of these young players will prove me wrong. Man, I hope so.....

You take guys you think will add something to your team. Lord was supposedly "lights out" in is defensive back drills. Casserly said he has never seen a converted player grade as high in these drills ... EVER. We have one of the biggest scouting teams in the NFL from what I understand. Pro scouts. Not internet copy N paste guys. I will trust their work and wait to complain about our picks if they do not pan out on the field, with my own eyes. I do not understand the mentality of complaining about 6th - 7th round picks anyhoo. Have you looked at the other 31 teams late picks? I bet you never heard of half of them. Our team is no different just because you follow them closer.

My thing is that I noticed all the guys we pick up always have or had an injury problem. We shouldn't be shocked when these players go down with injury. I do like the new signings though like Wade and Smith. No real history with injuries there. All I know is this year, I don't want to see a Texan player laying injured on the field after every play like we have been seeing the past two years.

I to have noticed that we have a propensity to pick up injured players. I suspect that we are looking to pick up talent that would not be vailable to us if they weren't injured and are putting down a bet that they come back from it and we get a better player than we normally would. Bit of a risk, but can pay off.

I would like to ad a positive to the injury situation. I believe that guys who have a major injury and come back will play a little more conservative, thus they have a better chance of being around all year once they come back. I am sure that they eventually get back their speed, but they may not take the higher risks.

The big test of this might be Willis McGahee this year. Will he be as sure-footed and elusive in games as he was in drills/minicamps? If he plays conservative he's a bust as a draft pick. I'll be keeping up on that!
