Texans Win Loss Record

Well, I have been right the first two years. I predicted right on this MB 4-12 and 5-11 the last two years. So, I suggest you heed Porkydomus' prediction.

I am not as optimistic as most. I tend to see things how they are, and not how I want them. I am what is known in the prediction biz as a realist soothsayer. And now, removing toungue from cheek, my offical 2004 Texans record prediction:

7-9

Improvement on offense may be dramatic, putting the Texans toward the middle of the pack offensively. This time, it's the defense that lags. Too many new faces, lack of pass rush, depth and injury concerns, etc. The defense will finish bewteen 25-and 30th best, while the offense will finish 14th to 19th, with the left side of the line still a concern. All in all, the future looks bright indeed for our men in Steel Blue.

I say 7-9 as well. We get a wild card spot next season and and win a playoff game losing in a divisional game. By the 2007 season we win our division and start to dominate making the Super Bowl in 2008 in Arizona and winning it vs. Redskins 23-15!!

A 7-9 record would have been outstanding in the 1st year, or even last year with all of the injuries. A 7-9 record in '04 would be little more than OK. It would probably mean that the Texans either had more injury problems or did a mediocre job of evaluating the incoming talent. I don't think the Texans spend the money they did in free agency, or go for quality over quantity in the draft, if they didn't believe there was an opportunity for the postseason this year.

I don't "remember" where Casserly or Capers said that the Texans couldn't get to the playoffs in year 3. Could you refresh my memory?

I'll predict that the Texans go 8-8 or 9-7. There's an outside chance at winning a WildCard, but I think we'll likely miss out this season. We will probably be in contention towards the end of the year, but we will play the role of spoiler for some teams.

I wouldn't be shocked if this team won 10 games, but I think 8-8 is about the best we can expect. Expecting anything more is unfair to them. I would still be proud of them, if they only went 7-9. Anything less than that will be a dissappointment, but who knows what injuries will occur. By week 4, this team could be without Seth Payne AND Dominick Davis. Who knows, at that time, Carr might even have some temporary problem. I just hope they improve some every year until they make the playoffs--and hopefully win at least the first round. That would be great.

Remember, every team has injuries every year. It's gonna happen. Let's just hope it's not certain guys that we need in there the most.

OK Porkydomus, your 7-9 prediciton is still intact (all the rest of you as well) my predicition of 8-8 required defeating those lightening bolts. Oh well maybe they will surprise somewhere else, like KC to make up for it

I see the Texans headed for a HUGE season making a run for the playoffs.

After the first loss this year is the opening game, I see the record turning for the better. They will fight hard and though Robinson will get burned a few times we will come out of it with a winning record at about 10-6.

The rook can only get better. How much worse can you get than tripping over thin air? He can only get better from this point.
