Well OB doesn't seem like someone who would skip one on one chart time with a QB to take high just for disinformation so as I said, if they didn't ask I wouldn't expect to hear Manziel's name called for the Texans.

This is either going to be great or a monster disaster. I like Manziel and actually hope we draft him, but I don't have a good feeling about this.

NFL draft: Texans (and everyone else) excited for Johnny Manziel's pro day

Quote:
Maybe general manager Rick Smith had a slip to USA Today when asked about concerns that Manziel would not fit in O'Brien's offensive scheme.

"That's not an accurate statement at all,'' Smith said. "Bill O'Brien is a creative coach. He's an innovative coach. And if he had a guy like Johnny Manziel, he'd figure out a way to utilize his skills.''

Smith paused, then, chuckled.

"Now when you write that everybody is going to say, 'We're taking him,''' he said. "Which I love.''.................

And at Manziel's much-anticipated pro day, O'Brien said he's looking forward to seeing how much Manziel has improved since his season at Texas A&M ended.

"Has he improved footwork-wise, throwing motion, knowledge of coverages?" O'Brien said. "You can see a lot in a pro day, but in a private workout, you're one-on-one, and the prospect is taking your instruction right from what you say. And he's doing things that you're going to have him do in your system, whether it's offense or defense."
A few quotes in this article I haven't seen before. Not sure if they're new or not, but its the first I've seen them.

Quote:
If he can’t simulate a defensive pass rush, Texas A&M’s Johnny Manziel will surely do all he can to simulate the physical hurdles of throwing while being draped in football equipment. ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports that Manziel, a player widely considered to be taken among the top eight in the impending NFL Draft, will wear a helmet and shoulder pads during the throwing portion of his pro day.

This move is certainly going to produce plenty of discussion for several reaasons. One, it’s believed to be the first time that a collegiate quarterback is doing so as many use their pro days to provide the most ideal of conditions. Secondly, fellow quarterback Teddy Bridgewater did not wear pads and a helmet and still couldn’t throw the ball well during his day.

Top three prospects I want at #1

Bridgewater
Clowney
Manziel

I'd be fine with Bortles though.

I don't care what anyone says this is a good idea. It sets him apart from the other QBs and their pro days. I just don't want to hear excuses if he has a bad one saying its only because of the extra equipment he wore.

Johnny Football Pro Day getting ready to start. If you liked him before you'll like him after. If you didn't like him before you won't like him after. FTR - I like Him. Johnny is #2 QB on my QB list.

I just heard Whitfield (sp?) is going to be chasing him with a broom as well...

If that's true, Manziel has got to be careful not to let this turn into a clown show.

I have to give props to the jags for broadcasting all these pro days live. Really, really great job by them.

Jaguars live will also be a Clowney's pro day next week which will finalize their series of pro days.

That's actually a common training technique. Nothing new there. Patriots used this to prepare for our Defensive Line and Watt before the game.

You're not telling me anything I don't already know.

I am well aware of things people do in practice and training. I'm also aware that the patriots used it to get ready for Watt. I know that when Carr first got here they did something similar to try to help him throwing over the line.
