Texans Fans!!

(That's an old joke for you newbs)

In any event, If O'Brien takes his cue from the Patriots - aka Bellicheat AND not that BS style of FB that they played in the "Little Ten" it should be fun.... It may take a year or so. Then again, it could be next year that a 2 & 14 goes 14 & 2... I'm not saying, I'm just saying (of course I'm exaggerating).

There's talent on this team although there are some key positions that NEED TO BE FIXED NOW!

lol! Yeah, dude has barely been here a year and thinks he has the pulse of the forum 8 years ago. But, some folks are good at baseless blanket assumptions, and he appears to be experienced at it.

I hope for the best, like most Texans fans, but I have never claimed to be Miss Cleo's long lost relative. Most predictions seem like slinging crap at a wall and seeing what sticks.

No kidding.

I remember before Wade showed up to give us a taste of winning (if only as smoke and mirrors) we were playing the Saints and this team just had zero heart. I was so done with that crap of football. I remember Grams and I pulling our hair out over that weak ass mentality.

It's almost too bad Wade showed up and prolonged the inevitable with his 2 year card trick.

I'm not saying that Rick Smith shouldn't be blamed for things but "salary cap hell" isn't one of them as far as I'm concerned.
Over in the draft thread they are making it seem impossible to trade for Mallett, sign him to a new contract and re-sign Watt. Your saying that it can be done? (Sarcasm////)

Look over in the make fun of the Cowboys thread. Playoffs posted an article that the Cowboys are $21 mil over the cap and just signed their KICKER to a $22.5 mil contract. Gives a little perspective on cap management and cap hell. Meanwhile we are being told the Texans can't sign anyone for more than league minimum.

Teams can usually hold on to their 10 most valuable players if they choose too. If the Texans are unable to then that is an indictment on Rick and Olson.

The reason the Texans went 2-14 this season and are in the bad cap shape they're in is because all of the new big contract guys finished on IR or played hurt.

Foster/Cushing/Schaub/Reed/to a lesser extent Wade Smith/Winston. You cant lose talent like that and not suffer the consequences. Gary was part of that problem by rushing back W.Smith/Winston/Reed. But Rick bears responsibility for re-signing Schaub/Foster/Reed C-N-D told us how that was going to end before it happened. For this reason Rick needed to hit the door with Gary. Why is Rick still here IYO?

Yeah. If that's what they want to do, then they can find a way to do it.

I did not vote, but am thinking somewhere between the first two. We may not make the playoffs but will have a winning season.

The more I read about OB, the more I like him as HC. I always though Crennel was a great DC - (Not HC). I like the Vrable hire.

OB seems to be bringing in coaches with lots of Super Bowl experience. Coaches that know what needs to be done and the type of players we need to reach the Super Bowl.

I think they will change the mentality of the team from just trying to hold on for the win to go for the throat and score all the points you can. Something we have not seen in Houston.
