because we know so much about our head coach already.

these comments irritate me so much, lets wait and see before we jump to ill-informed conclusions.

If you're irritated then you need to have a drink. I said "he seems like"...... meaning I have no idea, but its based on interviews and some thoughts he's conveyed about QBs he likes. Its just words my friend and my opinion. If you don't agree then you don't agree, but chill out.

There's a video you should watch that someone else posted and maybe, someone's opinion based on what the coach has said about what he likes from the QB position wouldn't irritate you so much.

Hard to justify Matthews (I was on that ship for a while).

No one else has separated themselves yet - tho its early pre combine.

Mariota is staying in school , Johnny Football is difficult to forecast as an NFL talent , Bridgewater played against a bunch of scrubs and has piss poor mechanics .... Mettenberger & Murray have injury questions and McCarron is difficult at best to diagnose .... then again he could be this drafts Aaron Rogers.

Barr .... meh.

Do you take one of those questionable QB talents with huge bust potential over one of those position players like Mosley (best football player in this draft) who may lock down their position for a decade at a probowl level ?!

This is flat out the wrong year to have the #1 pick .....
Mariota is just like the coaches that swear to the recruits that they will be there...until they aren't. Mariota has asked for an NFL Grade. He might come out with a sufficiently high grade. If he and Hundley both come out, trading down gains merit. But if BOB decides he would rather have a smart, but short QB with a low release, then it's his gamble and we're just along for the ride. But Keenum's value as a backup/competition goes up.

A big push by whom? Bob McNair, Rick Smith and O'Brian - these are the only one's who count. They'll have input from the new coordinators and from the organization's scouts. Ultimately, it will come down to the player O'Brian wants.

Yeah, he was mentioning Matt McGloin at 6'0 thereabout in the video:

http://youtu.be/dmH7jvQN4zk

That may encompass several QBs in this class.

Personally, I can't say that I know enough about QB play to declare that the QB (any QB) did what he was supposed to do on several plays so it is hard to tell which one has a higher football IQ, Bridgewater, Manziel, McCarron, Mariotta, Hundley, Mettenberger, Murray, or whoever.
There are instances when we don't know for sure how the offense is supposed to attack or counter the defense, where and when the QB is supposed to throw the ball, or where and how the receivers are supposed to run their routes, especially when we don't have the All-22 view to help see the whole field.

They might have different skill sets, that much we know, but as far as football IQ, I honestly don't know for sure which one has the most upstairs.

There are also the videos of some of his press conferences out there.

A couple of good samples could be the one after Penn St. lost big to Ohio St., and the one after they beat Michigan in OTs a week later.

I think I like his demeanor as a HC.
Quite spontaneous; hardly any hesitation in answering questions; then once he's done, he gets up and leaves quickly; no-nonsense.

I see this as more like the 2006 draft. Team just came off of a 2-14 season, fired the old coach, hired a new coach. The current Texans "franchise" QB sucks and needs to be replaced (however this time around it's more clear that he sucks as he has been benched, and not sure Bob is in love with Schaub's famlily).

You have a flashy QB coming from a Texas University that has a ton of fans within the Texans fanbase (many will be clamoring for the Texans to draft him). BTW, are there any big mattress store owner/Aggie fans in Houston? If so, expect to see ads.

You have a DE that is a physical freak but his work ethic being questioned.

This draft however appears to me to be much deeper at QB. Also you don't have an over hyped "Reggie Bush" type player in the mix.

Thats what the draft process is all about. In one video he talked about how his QB needs to be able to make good decisions, and referenced that you can tell a lot about the decisions he makes off the field. That's more or less where I was going with it. Like I said I'm just guessing that he may not particularly care for Johnny's antics and seeing as how they're both fiery they may clash. On the other hand I could be completely wrong. The draft is over 4 months away so there will be plenty of guessing between now and then.

The thought did come across my mind when I heard about "decisions off the field".
In the post Michigan presser, he also mentioned about high-character guys.

Both Bridgewater and Manziel are fantastic college QBs although I think Manziel would have to redefine his game more. However, one likes to party and couldn't be professional enough to finish the Manning passing academy. Are those huge red flags? Of course not. But don't tell me that's not considered when you're talking about the first pick.

That's why even though I like Manziel, I have to knock him down to the third before I would risk a pick on him.

I think he has first round talent, but like Wilson and Keenum, I have to knock him down a bit, and then the off-the-field decisions knock it down a bit further.

Bridgewater, on the other hand, doesn't posess the mental nor the phisical ability to be a number one overall.
He's a cross between many QBs drafted in the first round but outside #3 overall, not a bona-fide can't miss prospect.

This has to be just your opinion. I know it's early in the process but everything said so far refutes that. Evidence on the field does as well, between calling out protection to audibles.

It's a complete load of crap and 100% his wrong opinion. I guess Bridewater has nothing on freaking Keenum. Christ, my ignore list will be double digits by the time the draft is here.

I don't think A&M fans are going to go quite as overboard on JFF as UT fans did with VY. Hell it seems like the A&M fans who get real frothy at the mouth when discussing football don't think very highly of JFF's off the field antics, warranted or not.

I think the big difference here is instead of a heisman winning RB, you've got a QB from a small school that has been pegged as "probably" the best QB in the class hanging around.
