Ian Rapoport has reported that Sumlin could still potentially leave for the Texans if he is given an offer.

If Sumlin leaves and you all were the ADs of Texas A&M, who would you hire as coach? Ed Orgeron, maybe?

Me too. As an Aggie fan that would be a nightmare to me. Orgeron would be a good interview.

The NCAA is hypocrytical, Raping of a child screams lack of institutional control.

The Penn St. program should've been shut down instead of getting a slap on the wrist.

Why should the players be punished for something some dumb old men did? The NCAA getting involved beyond the criminal investigation was a terrible decision.

Morris is an Aggie, and a good OC to boot.

He has Aggie roots, is considered a young up and coming coordinator who will be a future HC (much like Kingsbury was), and could maintain continuity on offense because he runs a similar system.

I think Chad Morris is the highest paid assistant college coach.

Has Sumlin ever had a relevant defense, ever? And is his offense nfl capable? I watch as much college football as anyone but really focus on specific players and player martchups. I don't pay attention to schemes and coaching enough to have a clue.

He was #1 on my Aggie List when they fired Sherman.

He had a great defense last year that all left for the draft like every other school in the SEC.

Default Re: Sumlin agrees to 6 year deal with TAMU

We have a whole bunch of 4 star prospects on defense that were forced to contribute this year because of injuries and depth. Undersized freshmen in the SEC? They stood little chance.

I'm calling it now, linebacker Darian Claiborne will be one of the best LBs in the SEC by his junior or senior year. He has been the one positive player on an awful run defense, and he's just an undersized true freshman. This defense will be decent next year and if Snyder can deliver what he's being paid for they should be great in two.

There is a bucketload of talent coming to College Station. The only missing ingredients are experience and depth.

Also it's gonna be #21 A&M vs. #24 Duke in the Chick Fil A bowl.

Not exactly sleeping on them but there are other teams I would have liked to face CFA Bowl is certainly not bad and Duke has had a good season. That being said, Manziel should be patched up in 3 weeks and playing like he was before the thumb, so I'm not sure if it'll be that much of a contest.

As I was reading about the Texans HC hunt came across this nugget. Thought it was interesting...

Another name to keep an eye on: Rapoport was told that Kevin Sumlin will receive attention from Houston brass. The Texas A&M coach recently agreed to a six-year deal with the Aggies, but he hasn't officially signed it.

Like Sumlin will sit around and not sign the contract until after the NFL playoffs? A&M won't have any problem with that.
